Had prior appointments with Dr. Furniss. Great guy, friendly, good manner. Last visit with my usual bronchial infection had assistant take swabs and told me I couldn't get a steroid shot, antibiotics or inhaler until the lab results were back the next day due to the possibility of increased mortality if misdiagnosed. I assured her that I had been to Dr. Furniss for this condition before but she said no.. I was given cough suppressant pills and syrup along with a $30 decongestant spray for congestion I didn't have. Assistant called next day and apologized for putting wrong birthdate on lab request resulting in their refusal to return info. Said I needed to come in for another swab. I refused to be inconvenienced due to their error. She said she would get back with me. I called back and was on hold for half an hour before being promised the nurse would be with me shortly which resulted in a hang up. I finally reached the assistant again and she said I could come get a steroid shot and antibiotics without another swab but that it may increase mortality rate if what I had was flu related. I encouraged her to check my previous records on this treatment but her answer was that they had a new records system. I asked her to check the old records at which she responded to come on in and get a steroid shot and antibiotics. I was surprised that they would forego their previous protocol on a life and death matter. I asked to speak with the nurse but was put on hold only to have the assistant return with no answer. I don't think the right hand knows what the left hand is doing.

I have known Dr. Eddy since his Nacogdoches High School
leadership days. Eddy is an intelligent, humble,
concerned, empathetic, realistic, servant to his community and patients. Certainly, Eddy has remained the same caring medical leader to ALL people. We are truly blessed to have his leadership in the Nacogdoches Medical Community.

I had been trying to make an apt. for 3 weeks and they answered the phone finally after me leaving several messages........and after I had been on hold for 20 minutes!!! I requested to make an apt. with Dr. Furniss and they booked one for the following day. The evening before my apt. they called the confirm my apt......with Suzanna, NOT Dr. Furniss. Then, they told me I was required to wear a mask when I came in. I had no problem with that. I had a problem with them telling me this the night before my apt. Walmart is still not stocked, you have to order masks online days if not weeks in advance, which I could’ve done had they called me back in a timely manner.

My sister went and waited over 2 hours to see Dr. Furniss. She wanted to discuss him seeing her newborn that was expected to be born in the next few weeks. After making the pregnant women wait forever, he wouldn’t even see her! He sent his P.A.!!

One word: INCONSIDERATE!!!

Very typical rude worthless staff and nurses. Staff talks down to patients as if they are uneducated. Would not recommend this office for a pleasant doctors visit.

He does not seem to be concerned. I went in for blood work. I told him I had sore throat and it seemed to be raw. He did not even look at my throat. He said if it was not better in a couple of days call him and he would give me something. His staff could care less either.

I am shocked how unprofessional this practice is. I went in for my first appointment and was 15 minutes late. Three patients and 30 minutes later i was told i would be seen shortly. 30 minutes and three more patients later along with the previous 30 minutes; totaling to an hour, I got up to ask the receptionist why I had not been seen yet. I was promptly told that since I was late, I would have to reschedule for another date. Why I was told that I would be seen shortly, then given this information is unknown and extremely upsetting seeing as I was patiently waiting for an hour. I am extremely unsatisfied with the manner in which they handled my appointment. I Would not recommend this facility whatsoever and will not be going back.
