Dr Hanna has been treating me since 2020 for a chronic foot condition. He was very honest from the beginning and i did end up needing surgery recently due to continued stress on my foot and ankle from my occupation. Dr Hanna was very up front with the possibilities of different outcomes due to the nature of the surgery. Dr Hanna text me the evening after my surgery (which is unheard of from any Dr Ive met), to check on me. The surgery went better than expected and I can already tell a huge difference in my foot 1 week postop. I would highly recommend Dr Hanna to anyone with any foot/ankle condition.

Dr. Hanna literally ruined my life. He caused my talus bone to go into necrosis and die. Had the MRI in front of him while there were still things he could’ve done, and looked me straight in the eye and said everything was fine & hardware looked good. When I got to a competent doctor, the bone could not be saved and I found out there wasn’t even hardware in my ankle! What in the world did he do in that operating room?!! My left leg is two inches shorter than my right. I have a permanent limp, and because I have to over compensate on my right leg I now have arthritis in my knee. Please think long and hard before going to ANY doctor. My life is forever changed, and this is just a few examples.

Dr. Hanna is amazing! He did bilateral ankle stabilization with removal of bone spurs. I believe I was the first one he had done both on. I had the best experience. Prior surgery on the left ankle entailed being in a boot from May-Sept, then surgery, then make shift cast 15 days, then plaster case 6 weeks, then boot again til January, then ankle brace, plus PT. I am six weeks out from Dr. Hanna's innovative procedure. My ankles feel strong and my pain (even doing both) has been manageable. Follow his instructions for care, how it is wrapped, listen to what he says and then ask questions. He will explain the whole procedure to you so that you will be successful. When he says walk, try, don't push, but try, I believe it sped up my recovery. I am so grateful that Dr. Hanna was placed in my life so now I can run, hike, walk, stand without falling. There was only one thing I would of done differently and that was because I had both done and you can technically put pressure on them going home, I needed a walker for a bit because there was no "good" ankle to shift to. I am doing my PT regularly and exercise all the time. I couldn't be happier with Dr. Hanna! I spent 10 months dealing with one ankle before and I have been discharged slightly less than 6 weeks post op...!This is a miracle! Thank you so much Dr. Hanna!

I owe my quality of life to this man. He saved my leg when it was recommended that he amputate from the knee down. I just lost my toes instead. And with a new radical healing procedure, I was wearing shoes again in 4 months. I recommend anybody and everybody seek him out if you want fast and quality results. Also great sense of humor and his staff is equally great.

Have wonderful experience. He pioneered special procedure (ATFL) to cut in half the time off my foot (of extreme importance). Very knowledgeable and provides simple-to-understand analogies to understand the procedures and healing. He demonstrates his extremely high level of concern and care for the welfare of his patients. I highly recommend Dr. Hanna.

You couldn't ask for a better doctor or staff. Dr. Hanna has been wonderful to my husband. We met Dr. Hanna in October 2016. Through some extremely difficult times, he never once sugar coated my husband's situation. He prepared us for the possibility of a worse case scenario, all the while, doing everything possible to create a positive outcome. This effort has paid off and although my husband is still in recovery mode, we know that Dr. Hanna's hard work, knowledge and expertise, along with his wonderful bedside manner, has given us more hope and healing than we could have imagined. Thank you Dr. Hanna.

Dr. Hanna saw me even though, at the time, I did not have insurance in state. He took a chance on me when the ER I had seen gave me some bandages and sent me on my way when you could see bone through the wound. He truly cares about his patient's total overall well being and will get in your face if you try to slack. He goes that extra mile for the person, not the bottom dollar, which is lacking in modern day medicine. His staff is very friendly and they too truly care about the patients. Would and have recommend Dr. Hanna to others!

I don’t think I’ve ever left a doctor’s office feeling so angry. Dr. Hanna was rude and patronizing. He did not listen to my concerns, contradicted himself several times, could not answer legitimate questions appropriately. It was a horrible experience. His staff and nurses were very nice ironically. Sadly it does not make up for Dr. Hanna’s lack of professionalism and bedside manner.

I have been seeing Dr. Hanna for over six months due to a calcaneal fracture. I've found him to have a very sharp mind and an excellent bedside manner. Some members of his staff are top notch. Others, not so much.

We call Dr Hanna "Super Doc" because he is indeed all that. He has saved my friend's foot and ankle and provided exemplary care with compassion. Everyone should have a physician of this high caliber in their treatment.

Biography

Dr Hanna has now served the Louisville community for close to six years in the medical field. He graduated as the Chief Resident in Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery in 2014 from Norton Hospital. Before this, he graduated with honors from The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He has been in practice since then at his two Louisville facilities. Dr Hanna specializes in rearfoot and forefoot trauma, reconstruction, and sport medicine. He has pioneered many minimally invasive approaches in both trauma and sports medicine, priding himself on quick recovery with minimal risk. He is one of the only surgeons in the country who performs arthroscopic rearfoot fusion . Dr Hanna has developed a lateral ankle stabilization as well as a heel spur removal technique that allows his patients to be weight bearing that day, as opposed to being casted for 8 weeks. Most recently, Dr Hanna was one of only three podiatrists in the country to be invited to speak about techniques in minimally invasive treatment of arthritis of the foot and ankle. In his spare time, Dr Hanna enjoys snow skiing and the outdoors, as well as his new favorite past time wake surfing. He also enjoys being with his family and his dog Gary (ask for a picture). We pride ourselves on the highest level of care at Comprehensive Foot and Ankle Centers and look forward to meeting you.
