My husband has been going to Dr.Bourne for the past 10 years. Our experience was that the office was organized well from the time you check in to the time you leave. We had tests done 2 weeks prior to the appointment, so that when we saw the doctor we knew the results. We also left with copies and new orders to be filled at the next visit. Also because of the number of hormones my husband takes due to his pituitary gland that doesn't function, we also leave with all those mail order rx's renewed so there is no gap or lapse in them. I have never felt that my husband and I were always treated in a welcomed manner, and that they were happy to help us in every way that they could. I am very sad to see Dr. Bourne leaving but hoping that she does well where ever she goes. We will miss her terribly. Thank you Dr. Bourne you have made a difference in our lives.

Worst medical establishment I've ever been too. The staff is incompetent and messed up multiple things with my prescriptions. The office manager Greg is an idiot and can't even call an insurance company without completely messing it up and giving the wrong info causing it to be denied. Dr. Julia Bauer acted clueless with testosterone supplemention and told me to google the website and then changed her mind 3 different times on my treatment. JUST WAIT AND SEE A GOOD ENDO. There's a reason they have openings, they suck!

Absolutely the worst doctor I have ever seen, during the few times she actually saw me, instead of her nurse prac. Uncaring, rushed, condescending and unknowledgeable. She's only in it to make money. 3 years of seeing her and couldn't get my diabetes under control. Two visits with a real doctor and problem solved.

This office is managed very chaotically. The doctors, office manager, and majority of the very young staff treat patients disrespectfully. They don’t seem to care about the well-being of their patients. If you search other websites, you will see a lot of complaints against them. I would absolutely advise others to find a different Endocrinologist if you want professional, competent treatment.

They do not return phone calls, even for critical situations dealing with insulin, in my experience. You will wait 1-2 hours in the waiting room and then they will rush you through your appointment in 3 minutes. By the way, I only saw the doctor once. All the other times (years), it was the PA who did not even know what "diabetic nerve pain" is.

It's a very unprofessional and incompetent office. One word of advice: Avoid!

Staff Sucks! Absolutely horrendous. They waste your time, are rude, not knowledgable and genuinely seem to be in the wrong line of work. The doctor never ever calls back, won't give you the time of day it absolutely sucks! I bet she and the staff write their own good reviews because there is no way they could ever get 5 stars!

I also had her as a doctor years ago. She was just as dismissive of my knowledge and understanding of my condition. It was a horrible experience to be "treated" there.

I had three appointments with Dr. Bourne. During my first appointment I supplied Dr. Bourne with numerous records all of the ups and downs of my TSH, calcium T3, T4, and PTH levels. I advised her of unusual problems relating to my thyroid and health in general. I also noted severe damage to my neck and spine and the reaction my thyroid and parathyroid levels had to radiation and contrast material. I informed Dr. Bourne of how calcium levels could appear perfectly normal while the PTH was way off. I explained that my health had not been good and I had all the symptoms of incorrect TSH levels. I’d lost a lot of weight and hair. Felt very tired and weak at times. I was unable to sleep well and was having palpations of the heart and leg cramps. I already had a 5.2 aneurism in the heart. I mentioned my TSH being off after a bone density and a mammogram in July 2011 and another round of radiation for an in-depth mammogram in 2012. I told her my urea had been elevated and blood pressure had consistently been running unusually low. I was even unable to walk across the room at times. Dr. Bourne was unusually passive. She wasn’t interested in the history of unusual problems effecting my TSH and PTH levels. She didn’t even want most of the paper work I had collected for her. After having her requested blood work done I returned to be told everything on the blood work was right on track. Dr. Bourne suggested my having a bone density, which included radiation, which would have thrown off my TSH and PTH levels even more. My records had shown this in the past. I said no and repeated the problem. At one point she asked me what would I ideally like my TSH to be. I said I seemed to have felt my best in the past at 2.5. Amazingly without ever changing my synthyroid level the blood work came back showing TSH 2.14. The urea was normal (even though elevated on Greenwoods blood work) and the bun creative ration not relevant with all other blood levels completely normal. No explanation for how I was feeling. She quickly left the room. By my next visit three months later things hadn’t changed in the way I was feeling. I had more and more problems with Dr. Greenwoods’ office with ridiculous reasons for not being able to get every day type testing at hospitals done. A new cardiologist by the name of Caballero had been consulted. His ECG showed problems that needed to be addressed but he indicated I was better off not knowing my condition. Stop trying to get care. He would not help me in any way and would not take me on as a patient. My husband asked Dr. Caballero straight out if he was telling me just go away and die. Dr. Caballero said “yes”. The ECG taken in his office before seeing me showed possible left atria abnormality, Poor R wave progression and inferior and lateral ST elevation, possible early repolarization. None of this was mentioned to me during our talk. He had all of my history even mentioning reviewing it (Enlarging atria, severe stenosis of the carotid arteries, history of TSH and PTH levels too suppressed, urea elevated and superficial thrombus of the left leg calf, incomplete testing of the renal arteries and organs by other forms of testing).

Based on the blood test done at the hospital my TSH was over suppressed. Working together Dr. Greenwood and Dr. Bourne deliberately over suppressed my TSH levels, which caused me to have an A Fib with RVR attack. If Dr. Bourne had not been confronted in her office the day of my attack with my knowledge of her altering medical records while conspiring with Dr. Greenwood I don’t believe Dr. Bourne would have notified me of the seriousness of my condition. Only after being confronted did Dr. Bourne tell me I was having a heart attack. She never called an ambulance. Never told me where I could find a hospital. She just handed my husband a slip to have my TSH checked in the hospital and a return check up note to come in again in a couple of months. The first thing the doctor in the hospital told me when my blood was drawn was the A Fib with RVR attack was a deliberate over suppression of my TSH levels. Upon leaving the hospital four days later my new cardiologist (Dr. Parente) made the same statement that the A Fib with RVR was deliberately caused by the over suppression of my TSH levels.

A doctor this callus deserves to loose her license. This wasn’t accidental. It was done on purpose with only one result in mind. My death.

I had been a patient at Dr. Bourne’s office for about 6 months because my previous doctor closed her office. Initially I was pleased with my first visit because I met with her directly and they were able to see me quickly. Unfortunately, I noticed that the staff was extremely disorganized. They can’t keep up with blood work or provide proper receipts. They don’t call back when they saw they will.

I switched my appointments to the physician assistant (PA) Christa because it became hard to get an appointment with Dr. Bourne. This PA did not have the necessary expertise to answer questions or clearly explain her approach. She rushes through discussions to avoid presenting a clear strategy on her medical approach. On my last visit I was not pleased with the answers to the questions I had. She didn’t seem to be knowledgeable about the subject matter. I was not confident that she had the needed expertise for my health condition. I looked at the computer screen and noticed that Christmas was spelled wrong on the scrolling screensaver. I could not believe that it was mid January and Christmas was still spelled wrong in a doctor’s office. Then I had to ask myself. Why am I receiving healthcare from people that can’t spell Christmas? This was all my fault. Why would I expect the best healthcare from a staff that can’t spell Christmas?... Really!

I ended up just walking about of office in daze and wondering why did I stay at this office so long. If they can’t find blood work or an ultrasound that I placed in her hand why would they be able to provide medical care. I have started seeing my primary care physician and he has the knowledge to address my questions and provide the proper care. My co-workers had advised me to go back to him months previously and I didn’t.

I do not suggest Dr. Bourne’s office to anyone that needs specific appointment times or has questions about their healthcare. There are better options in Orlando.

after loosing lots of weight and having serious heart papatations she rushed through visit and told me it was all in my head. my next doctor diagnosed me with graves disease? how could she have missed that?

Do not go to her if you are a thyroid patient. She only treats with synthetic T4 and goes only by the TSH. She kept me feeling very sick for over a year, until I did extensive research. The last straw with me was when I asked her about adrenal/pituitary health. She stated it has nothing to do with thyroid health. It has EVERY thing to do with thyroid health. She is either uneducated, or wants to keep her patients uninformed, either way, terrible doctor. I am now treating with an ARNP, who suffers also from Hashimotos and understands the disease. I'm finally on natural thyroid hormone and supplements for vitamin deficiencies, caused by gluten intolerance. Dr. Bourne didn't test for any of this, in a year and a half of treating with her.
