I would highly recommend Dr. Ueno! I came to him looking for help with anxiety and acne. After about 10 treatments, I look and feel so much better. Even though my initial treatment period is over, I have continued coming back. Dr. Ueno is very knowledgeable and also an incredibly kind person. Would highly recommend!

Dr. Ueno is amazing. I came to him looking for help with PMS. Within two months my symptoms have disappeared and I feel great. Even though my treatment is over I will definitely continue coming back for "tune ups". Highly recommend Caring Acupuncture and acupuncture in general for anyone wondering whether or not it will help!

I cannot thank Dr. Tetsuhiro Ueno and his practice enough. After starting a desk job, I began to experience terrible neck pain. I tried everything from massages to cortisone shots with little relief. Frustrated that nothing was working, I decided to try acupuncture. Tetsuhiro explained the process and made me feel comfortable, and after a few treatments I finally started to feel relief! I even continued to venture out to Alexandria when he decided to open his own practice. He truly cares about his clients. One day I got stuck in the lovely DMV traffic and I was over an HOUR late for my appointment. The office called to make sure I was okay and still gave me treatment even though I was terribly late. I could go on and on. But bottom line, if you are considering acupuncture, I could not remember this office more. Tetsuhiro is wonderful to work with.

Dr. Ueno is a treasure. His new practice is fantastic and his wife and receptionist, Sachiko, is wonderfully kind and very responsive. My concerns when I came to him three years ago were for fertility assistance and general health promotion (with some TMJ pain mixed in). Since seeing him, I've gotten sick less and every session puts me into a deep relaxation, even when I've had a chaotic day and I don't think it's possible. Throughout my years of trying to conceive, I had seen several acupuncturists in different cities, including a highly regarded duo in DC, and none provided the compassionate, attentive care that Dr. Ueno did. I managed to conceive, but lost the pregnancy early on due to a genetic issue and the experience was awful - a lot of it due to the thoughtless, humiliating, frustrating, and sometimes disrespectful treatment I received from all sorts of medical providers in just trying to bounce back from the miscarriage and understand what had happened. Dr. Ueno stood out as the single provider who listened with genuine concern and compassion to my questions and who wanted to help me in the recovery process and give my body the best chance at supporting another pregnancy, while also giving me a safe space to be a vulnerable human processing something very difficult. I finally got pregnant again and saw Dr. Ueno during the pregnancy and when my due date rolled around, I saw him to help encourage labor ... a little over 12 hours later my water broke and my husband and I now have a healthy baby girl! You will not find a health care provider more compassionate and attentive than Dr. Ueno.

I am so happy and very blessed To have found Dr. Ueno. A little over 7 years ago I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neauralgia which is a condition that causes an electric shock like feeling in your face. The pain is so bad that the condition is also known as the suicide disease, although there is no permanent cure for the condition there are several procedures you can Have to help lessen the pain and 6 years ago I had a major operation known as a micro-vascular decompression which is basically an open crationomy. For a while I was able to go through life pain free but when I got pregnant with my first baby the pain came back and not being able to take any western medication My neurologist at the time Recommended I try acupuncture which worked wonders. At this time we lived in California and before the baby came (with the help of acupuncture) the pain subsided. Fast forward a couple of years we Now live in the DC metro area and the pain came back (which is not a surprise because there’s no cure but this time the pain returned with a vengeance, I couldn’t do anything I was completely debilitated because of this condition and it hurt to do normal everyday things such as (talking, eating, or brushing my teeth) I found an acupuncturist in the Alexandria area but the procedures he was using did not work, I then searched for a new acupuncturist and that is when I saw reviews on Dr. Ueno and scheduling an appointment with him is truly the best thing I could have ever did when I got to him I was in extreme pain (on a scale from 1-10 I was at an 8) He was able to lessen my pain just after a few sessions. Dr. Ueno is the most thoroughist acupuncturist I’ve every seen, he explains how acupuncture will help you and what pressure points he will focus on and why. He also likes to get to the root causes of what causes or triggers the pain and help with that as well. His office environment is clean and is staff is extremely professional. If you are suffering from any type of pain to include facial pain I highly recommend this doctor.

Dr. Ueno is amazing! I visited him for a variety of reasons postpartum from the birth of my baby, ranging from anxiety, to menstrual cramping/pain with my returned cycle, to preventing the regrowth of uterine adhesions (which I experienced after the birth of my first child, also by c-section.) Dr. Ueno's thoughtful and thorough evaluation immediately set me at ease. I saw a marked difference after only a few sessions, but by this week (two months into my treatment,) I'm simply amazed. My postpartum anxiety is completely under control, and most notably, I haven't had any cramping or pain, whatsoever, since my cycle came back-- this is a first in my entire life! The treatments are so relaxing and I always leave feeling refreshed and re-centered. He is the opposite of pushy-- I've never felt anything but gentle, patient support in his demeanor and treatment of me as his patient. His wife, Sachiko, manages the front desk and billing and is a complete delight, and they have the most adorable dogs, too:) I can't recommend them enough. Go and see him, you will not regret it!

Really enjoyed seeing Dr. Ueno! He was very helpful with his care and approach. He is considerate to crafting a plan that will resolve the issues you are having without going on indefinitely. He listens very carefully to you and applies that to his treatment plan. Symptoms are important knowledge to him, unlike normal western medicine.

In 2017, one of my resolutions was to find a permanent solution to my constant sinus headaches and ear ache. I have had this condition for at least 6 years. I have been to three different ENT specialists, had a CT scan had my ENT scoped – where they insert the tube through your nose and see the inside on a camera. I was popping ibuprofen constantly to get some escape from the constant pain. I also had sleep issues and my appetite was crazy… I need to lose some weight!
I found Dr. Ueno after careful research online and made an appointment. That is when my miracle begun. He listened attentively and explained what acupuncture does for the body. I have been a constant patient since then. He has phased my session out gradually. My symptoms have reduced significantly. They are not completely gone but I know it is a matter of time. I look forward to sessions – and this is a lady who is terrified of shots and needles. I strongly believe that my issues will be resolved soon.
Dr. Ueno has the best beside manners I have experienced in a long time. He is a true and honest acupuncturist. He honestly tells me that soon, acupuncture would have completed its usefulness and that eventually I will not need any more sessions. I will be so sad when that happens but I know that by then my sinus, sleep and crazy appetite issues will be 100% resolved.
If you are looking for honest answers and a caring practitioner look no further.

Dr. Ueno is a wonderful, knowledgeable, and kind doctor. He takes the time to explain everything and answer all questions. His acupuncture and Chinese herbal treatments helped relieve all of my stress, and are currently supporting my pregnancy. I was nervous about the Chinese herbal treatments, but Dr. Ueno was understanding and accommodating. He was supportive of my decision to take smaller doses, and he said that it would be ok if I decided not to do Chinese herbs. I highly recommend Dr. Ueno. He is a great person and a wonderful doctor.
