Ride on the phone. Made me feel like an idiot. After she places three colas to me, and had a bad connection on her end. She has said I was a no show. And dismissed me.
Going to her office I she wasn’t prepared. Spent her whole time trying to get her computer connected.
Unfortunately there are very few endocrinologists in Nova Scotia. And diabetes is a chronic disease.
It’s a long waiting list process for a new doctor.
Especially when you’re trying to deal with an insulin pump.
Absolutely enraging phone call, made me left embarrassed.
I also had been going through cancer while her as my doctor. She gets angry or annoyed easily.
Just can say that she is not a good doctor. As a diabetic type one. Definitely not recommended.

Dr Barna has to be the most wonderful doctor who has ever treated me. She is kind, respectful, knowledgeable and so caring.

She was very unpleasant while talking over phone appointment.

I waited almost a year for this appointment and I came in with multiple symptoms and multiple concerns after having 2 other doctors tell me that I have PCOS. She never even came in until the end of the appointment, I told her assistant everything. After she came in she sat down and told me 1) she doesn’t see anything wrong and my blood was “normal” even though there were many red flags that other doctors had noticed. 2) “you carry excess weight” and told me everything would be solved if I lose weight which as an endo she should know that people with PCOS have an incredibly hard time losing weight, plus I’m not even overweight I am extremely healthy... 3) told me to take birth control so I told her how I gained almost 30lbs during the time I was on birth control and she told me that I was wrong.. She made me feel like I was wasting her time and kept dismissing all of my concerns and every time I told her anything she said it was “normal”. I had absolutely no success with this appointment, it only made me feel worse.

This was my first consultation with Dr. Barna de. I first dealt with her assistant who was an absolutely lovely and very knowledgeable. She was a delight to talk with. My conversation with Dr. Barnna de was equally great and informative. She definitely was top notch and I felt very comfortable with the changes made to my meds. I found her demeanor extremely professional and easily understood. My contact with both ladies was above and beyond my expectations. Many thanks.

As others have said before me, she lacks empathy, was never on time and basically made me feel like I was wasting her time. I had a conversation with her last year outlining my troubles and was given the hope that if my current medication did not go well we could try another route. I had the follow up call and was completely dismissed. She didn't even explain why; it felt like I was being rushed off the phone. I'm not impressed at all and feel like I wasted the last 9 months waiting for this joke of an appointment.

This physician is very knowledgeable but lacks any empanthy . She makes you feel like you know nothing about Diabeties and if you have just been diagonsed as an adult( you don't ). When she speaks to you she has no compassion and there is no pleasing her no matter how hard you try. She is always very negative , and not helpful.

Fortunately for me, Dr. Tugwell was the on call doctor at the emergency dept. when I was there. She very quickly made a diagnosis of my problem and how I was going to manage it going forward. I have had both in person and phone consults with her. I find her excellent. She is very knowledgeable and communicates well.

Dr Tugwell is really good but one of the clinic staff who normally answer the phone has a very bad attitude. So bad we are thinkimg of switching doctor.

Dr. Barna (Tugwell) De has been my endocrinologist for many years. I feel very fortunate to have such a brilliant, compassionate and kind physician. I have had type 1 diabetes for 34 years, Dr. Barna keeps me on top of my game and continues to give me the incentive to take good care of myself. I am very appreciative of the wealth of knowledge she brings to the table and feel blessed to call Dr. Barna (Tugwell) De my doctor.
