I was required to go for a post-op visit 4 days after having a radical mastectomy in order to start the reconstruction. I waited 3 hours in his waiting room. I was never happy with my outcome. The scar across my reconstructed breast is deep and could be seen through my clothing. It is at least one cup size smaller than the real breast. He was unsympathetic and defensive. His exact quote was "I am not God." It has been about 8 years since he finished my reconstruction and I currently have a rupture in the silicon implant. When I saw him regarding my suspicion he was belittling and rude, not accepting that I had diagnosed myself. He didn't look my post-op pictures. He gave me a prescription for an MRI nonetheless, but never called for insurance authorization. My radiologist saw the rupture in my sonogram a week later. He advised an MRI, but Dr. K refused to call for authorization. I am currently seeking another surgeon to replace my implant and to repair his shoddy workmanship.

I've been going to Dr Kessler for 13 yrs now which is not the norm considering that I only went to him for cosmetic procedures and this type of loyalty is not common in this field. My body kept rejecting one of the breast implants so although it is not his fault, I had to keep going back to have him remove the capsular tissue that kept surrounding the implants. My only complain is that Dr Kessler can be a little uptight and close minded to the feedback you give. This is not something I'm judging him on overnight. I have known him for years. Plus I feel that although he is honest and tries to do what is best for his patients, his expertise can use a little polishing and his techniques can be a little outdated. You also tend to wait for at least an hour no matter what time your appt is.

Did a complex 10 hr microsurgery on necrotic foot. Fine surgeon, no bedside communication ability. Resulting scar is wretched but I have blood flow to my foot. Doesn't talk and tends to rely solely on his medical skills. Won't go back for cosmetic adjustments and felt he was intimidated by my complete lack of awe of him and his partners.

Family member had a deep cut, went to the hospital for emergency care. She was told to see a surgeon for aftercare. We chose him because of his hand surgery specialty. He did not notice (unbelievable) that the er physician had stitched the hand incorrectly. He could have fixed it then. After a week when he was to remove the stitches she was told she was sewn incorrectly. And he "fixed it" then. She is SCARRED for life. Do not go to this doctor.

Doctor has performed surgery on me and my wife--more than once. Removal of growths. Hand surgery for my wife. Would use him for any surgery any day any time! Superior, caring and supremely confident. Office waits sometimes a pain but he''s worth it!
