I have been in pain management for over 10 years and Dr Kalmat is by far the most compassionate Dr I have ever seen. He is committed to controlling my pain so my life is as painfree as possible SHOTS do not work on everyone. I highly recommend Dr Kalmat if you suffer from chronic pain

Nicest doctor I have met, however the practice he is working for is known to be shady. The owner Dr. Babak Arvanaghi, has the worst attitude ever and so does another doctor there name jose suro who I have friends that see personally. Now doctor kalmat is ok as far as he does not have that arrogant I am a doctor attitude and he does not wanna get you hook on narcotics. He actually seems to care. He also seems to love to charge insurance $3000 for injections that he knows does not work, as the other guy mentioned injectionologist. He also does not under stand that when you only give fast acting meds the patients opioid levels are up and down and the moron did not realize why I was having mood swings when my new doctor added a extended release like methadone or er oxymorphone now on ir oxymorphone 10mg and kalmat had me on 15mgoxycodone which sucked for pain and kept me up at night. He did not realize the importance of a extended release med and for these types of patients he should have

I have been seeing Dr. Kalmat for about two years. I think he is both technically adept and kind. He is willing to explore MANY treatment options to find the ones that work. I find his bedside manner quite compassionate. I feel that he cares about me as a whole person whether in the office or the procedure room. His excellent care for me helps make my life with pain as normal as humanly possible.

Dr. Kalmat's existence as a pain management doctor makes one wonder why someone with his nonexistent bedside manner would ever become a doctor and why someone with his lack of empathy would then choose the pain management specialty. Dr. Kalmat is there for one reason only: to inject you and then bill your insurance company. He does not practice pain management; he practices injectionology. He doesn't care about your history, your life, or your pain. After performing his injections (which did nothing), I asked if I should schedule a follow up. He said no. And to the reviewer who talks about bad reviewers failing their urine screens, I neither take nor requested narcotics nor did I take any urine test. His injections failed and he expressed no desire to ever see me again. A shameful practice.

Have you noticed that all of Dr. Kalmat's bad reviews are from patients that failed their urine screens. He is a fantastic doctor!

Dr.Chandrashekar kalmat should have treated my pain with more compassion I can not understand his style ,his bedside manor is bad. I am suffering with severe lower back pain. Dr kalmat has treated the pain for 3 years. on my last visit he told me my urine test was negaitive for opioids! How can a drug test say negative[he has treated me with tylenol#4 all these years.I left the office with not 1 script to help me until i search for another Dr.He is on the staff of Pain management Institute at Bethesda Md. I do not know how to find another Dr. that will help me after his bad things he put in my folder. He is a S. O. B.

I was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis at 24. I was told to go on disability and learn to live with my symptoms after 4 months in a very reputable hospital in the area. I couldnt accept that and couldnt take being on so many pain and nausea medications. He gave me my life back and helped me find a balance to where I could live a normal life and not ne medicated 24/7. A great doctor!!
