He was so rude and not helpful at all. He asked me what I wanted to do and we did that. Never gave me his input and never followed up

Finally found a great thyroid doctor in Dr. Goodman, only to see him retire 18 months after I found him. I traveled 50 miles out of my way to see him. He was the greatest, and I hate to see him retire.

As a Dr. myself (patient), I must say that Dr. Goodman provided a very thorough diagnosis, took time to consider all personal circumstances, explained treatment options well, and was very easy-going and personable. Good endocrinologists are hard to find, and Dr. Goodman is definitely one of them.

I'M NOT TOO IMPRESSED BY THE OFFICE STAFF. THEY CLAIMED TO OF CALLED ME TO VERIFY MY APPTMENT. AND ON THE DAY I HAD MY APPOINTMENT, I WAS CANCELLED 2 HRS BEFORE THE APPTMENT. THE OFFICE LADY WAS RUDE, AND I DIDNOT GET A VOICEMAIL OR A VERIFICATION OF THERE CALL ON MY CALLER ID! SO SHE RESCHEDULED ME FOR 2 DAYS LATER. I'M NOT TOO THRILLED TO DEAL WITH THE OFFICE STAFF. I DO LIKE THE MEDICAL ASSISTANTS ATTITUDE AND PROFESSIONAL ETIQUETTE. AS FOR DR. GOODMAN, I WILL TRUST HIS EXPERTISE TO HELP MY UNDERLYING HEALTH ISSUES.

Dr. Goodman is the most unprofessional doctor I have run across. He is dismissive of concerns and questions, condescending in his speech, and is quick to refer elsewhere if a case is complicated or not easily resolved by a thyroid pill. Confidentiality does not exist in his office- all exam doors are kept open and patient information freely discussed in halls and rooms. He also called me "sweetums" and "cutie" more than once... very creepy. Added to the fact that when he performed an ultrasound on my thyroid he felt is necessary to rest his entire arm across my breasts for the entire exam, I'd beg everyone please stay far away from this office. My time and money was competely wasted there. Save your money and go straight to the University hopsital, where they actually know what they are doing, are professional, and answer my questions instead of saying things like " this is as good as it's going to get for you" and "what are you complaining about? You lost a little weight." My experience was humiliating and frustrating. The best part- on my last visit he I was in his office less than ten minutes before he decided he couldn't help me and filled out a referral request. He said no charge for the visit... yet I get a bill in the mail two weeks later. Figures.

As long as one follows his advice and does not ask questions Dr. Goodman is fine. However, if you are diagnosed with a rare disease or condition and ask questions...he will fire you and leave you with no alternatives. His nurse actually told me that he does not return patient calls. Dr. Goodman seems to be dismissive. Dr. Goodman does not take kindly to anyone that does research on their own condition/diagnosis. If one does research and asks him questions Dr. Goodman acts as though he is threatened or intimidated by it. As patients, are we not to take part in our own health care Dr. Goodman? Would you not have questions if you were diagnosed with a rare disease or condition and wanted to optimize your quality of life?
