I had a hernia surgery November 2, 2023 and scheduled a phone consult two weeks after. I waited by the phone for two hours and did not receive a call. I called the office a couple times and left messages that were never returned. Finally I dropped in at his office to be told his receptionist no longer works there and Dr. Governo is out of the country till the end of the year. I’m to follow up with my family doctor and I can’t even get a phone consult till December 19! I’m left hanging with complications and no help at all. So very disappointed and frustrated!

Had my hernia surgery with Dr. Governo, he was excellent and seemed very professional and courteous.

Since my operation, I have had no follow up at all. I did receive a call from his receptionist or nurse (I do not know her title) to book a follow up call. The day of the scheduled call, (a Friday) he never called, I called 90 minutes after the time the call was to be & asked if he forgot, we could reschedule. The receptionist, barked at me, he is running late, can't you wait. I responded, no problem, we can reschedule & she barked again, saying why, can't you wait. I said sure, I can wait. I waited all day, no call, I called back & unfortunately they were closed, so I left a disappointing voicemail, and asked to be called back.

I then waited further, until Tuesday of the next week, never heard from anyone, I called back again only to leave another voicemail asking to be called back because I have some questions & he was to do another procedure for me. It will be Friday tomorrow, a full week since the missed appintment and I have not heard from Dr. Governo or his office.

Cancer care told me, if my next procedure / appointment, was not booked by the time of my follow up, I was to ask Dr. Governo about it. Pretty tough to ask the Dr. anything when the doctor and his "Rude", "Ignorant", "Disrespectful & "Extremely Unprofessional" of a so called assistant, just ignore their patient.

I can understand Doctors are busy & important, but, he knew he missed this appointment and has just blown me off. We all have jobs, and schedules, we need to respect them!

His assistant who, if he does not realize, is the first face you see when entering his practice at Selkirk Medical. She is representing Dr. Governo in the most disgusting manner. She should not be working in the public sector and should be removed from her position.

Very kind caring Dr had surgery for colon cancer and recieved excellent care everything was explained to me cant say enough good things about him

Had two colonoscopys done and was satisfied then was scheduled for a third Fasted all night went for surgery and was told the Dr was sick did not show up. Rescheduled fasted again went for surgery Dr did not show up and they did not give me a reason Saw another Dr and finally had it done I would never go back to this Doctor

Recent hernia operation..Operation was 100 percent and both doctor and staff could not have been more pleasant,informative and helpful. Had follow up phone call two days after surgery. Thank you all for caring!!!

A fantastic surgeon and caring Dr. Just a really nice guy who takes a personal interest in his patients. Had a difficult surgery that went extremely well due to his skills and knowledge. Thanks again Doctor.

Usless P.O.S kept me waiting over an hour past my appointment while 5 others walked in before me. Talked to the idiot at front desk to find out what was going on only to be told there were only 2 doctors working. So that means at least 2 people that had appointments after me got in before me

Dr Governo...saved my life! After a scan which discovered a colon cancer stage 3..Dr Governo operated and now 2 years later with follow up colonosopy etc ...still alive. He is the kindest and so personable . I always knew what was happening and what was to follow...kept me informed, Great Doctor!

My Dad just had his 1st visit with Dr Governo due to a mass that was found from a scan that had been conducted.. What a nice young man, he was so professional and explained everything as well as advised what further tests will be conducted. The receptionist is a gem of a lady, liked everyone who I came in contact with at this office. Now I just hope for positive results for my Dad. Thank You Dr Governo !!!!!
