Dr Mendelson was the first and only person who has listened to me, who has empathised and dealt with me as an equal, and who was carefully honest about what could and could not be achieved. Dr Mendelson and his staff were exceptional in their duty of care to me as a patient. Dr Mendelson also supported me emotionally by empathising with my devastation following the initial surgeries by the previous surgeons in Adelaide. During consultations he was always careful to give me honest, clear information to ensure that I understood what was and was not possible. I dare not even think where I might be today, if Dr Mendelson had not taken me as his patient, as I realise that it was far more difficult to repair someone else’s mistakes than to do any original procedure. I shall always be extremely grateful to Dr Mendelson for his dedicated professionalism, knowledge, surgical skills and support. The words "thank you", are just not enough to someone who has given you back your life.
