When you spend time with the Dr at your appointment that shows a lot. He is genius! He listened to my concerns and seemed to care about how I felt. Thank you Dr. Whittaker for taking time to see me!

Wish I had seen this site before I went to see Dr. Whittaker. I have NEVER had such an experience with an eye doctor before, and I have been seeing some for over 20 years now. You can't get a word in, he is arrogant and talks over you. The previous comment below about his god-complex knowing no bounds is spot-on. Truly a waste of my time as I would never let someone touch my eyes that won't let me speak beforehand in a consultation. He is a jerk.

I was referred to Dr. Whittaker by my neurologist. At the beginning of the appointment, he told his medical student that there was something "abnormal" with one of my exams. He looked at me and said "We need to find out what in the hell is going on here". After a few more tests he came in and belittled my neurologist for the treatment she was giving me. Towards the end of my exam Dr. Whittaker stated "I don't see a damn thing. Maybe because your medication is working. I think you need to stop your medicine and come back in four weeks so I can take a peek again. Your neurologist is just being nice by putting you on medicine. You need to stop taking that****". I explained to him that I was very hesitant to stop my medication because this drug is the only thing that has helped my headaches in the past two years. He then stated "You are a real pain in the ass, aren't you". I paid for his service and advice and he didn't deliver. He was full of insults and very unprofessional.

Dr.Whittaker was very professional, and knowledgeable about the field in which he works. He was able to explain complex issues in an easily understood manner. I would refer anyone needing his type of services without hesitation.

Dr. Whitaker is bar THE most arrogant physician I've ever encountered and having a neurological illness, I've encountered my share. He, LITERALLY, laughs when presented with the opinions of other physicians and being asked for him to provide his. He looked at test interpretations provided by two neurologists, laughed and said "this is bullsh*t". I've never heard a physician swear. Like I said, his god complex knows no bounds, he is condescending, presumptuous, will interrupt you continually, pat you on the head, and send you on your way. Even if I could endure being patronized by an arrogant, solipsistic, egomaniac it would still remain that I simply cannot trust him.

I was referred to this man because he is supposed to be a neuro ophthamologist. He doesn't know anything about either one. I have optic neuritis and pain in my eyes very often. He seemed to think that the only issue I had was dry eyes and said that I didn't even need glasses. Neither of those were true and both findings were found to be false when evalutated by another opthamologist. I can't see without my bifocals. I use NSAID eye drops for my eye pain and bifocals. He is the rudest physician I have ever had.
