Dr. Akhtar has been a godsend. Yes, he is late, but that is because he would never rush you if you need him. The staff at Hoover clinic UAB is consitently rude, nonhelpful and distracted/condecending. The fact that he has such loyal patients, including myself, who would never quit him, despite having to endure his administative staff, is a testament to what a fine caregiver he is.

He, and his office staff, are of the highest caliber. My conditions went undiagnosed or misdiagnosed by his peers for years. He took the time to listen, understand, make suggestions, try different treatments, and refer me to other specialists when needed. He treated me, personally and professionally, the way I expect to be treated. He has been a great doctor.

My husband began using Nadeem due to enrollment in Visa. I quickly changed to his office after noting the care patients receive. Unlike many physicans today that say "That is what to expect, you are old", he gets to the bottom of the problem by listening, testing, and the exchange of information. I can't believe how fortunate we are to have this great guy as our physician and we like to think as our friend. We would highly recommend this physicain to all that have the desire to have the best health. But be warned that you have to be willing to also help yourself. Dr. Akhtar can help you if you are willing to help yourself. He is not always on time but I don't know any of his patients that are not willing to wait as we all know he will take the amount of time needed for each of us.

Dr. Akhtar is by far the most thorough, caring physician that my husband and I have ever gone to. I have never known one who does as much reading and research to keep abrest of current medications, treatments and treatment options as he does. He is very open, humble and is truly interested in you and your well being. He is willing to take the time to hear your problems and concerns and take the action he thinks is appropriate. We are so fortunate to have a physician of his caliber in the UAB health system and are extremely blessed to have him as our physician.

He truely is one of the best, most honest drs out there. He 'does' take the time to get to know every patient, w/out any of us waiting in waiting room forever. One of the things I love best about him is, that he knows I know my body best & actually listens to me. So if u want a great dr, go see him. & I live downtown in Southside, surrounded by dr's & drive 30mins to him

He is the best Doctor that there is out there.. This Doctor has people that come as far as 250 miles just to see him.. THAT IS NO EXAGGERATION EITHER.... He cares about his patients and takes time to get to know them.. He searches for everything,, never is in a rush and makes sure he is doing all that he can do for his patient.. He says that he believes that getting to know a patient personally is the best way of knowing more about their medical condition and how to diagnose it.. He genuinely cares about his patients and is an awesome PERSON AND DOCTOR..
