Horrible rhinoplasty and overall terrible experience, unfortunately. Was left with a messed up bridge, indented, ugly and larger nose than before the painful surgery!!! Went back once healed and he said he’d fix it, can do better! Went through it all over again, so painful and healed terribly once again. Absolutely regret having him try and fix my wide bridge and deviated septum. Breathing was also not Better! Horrible traumatic experience really. Left it alone for a few years after the two back to back nose surgeries. Tried to focus on other things going on in my life at that time but of course thought about it daily, with regrets, every time I looked in the mirror. Waited a couple years and found an excellent plastic surgeon out east on Long Island, to fix the mess he made. Rhinoplasty is NOT his forte, and I wish I would’ve known this ahead of time. Beware!

This doctor is great! I recently had my lower eyelids done by Dr. Engler a few weeks ago and can already see a big difference. No more bags and I look totally natural. I did a lot of research before choosing Dr. Engler and am really happy I went with him. I got exactly the result I wanted. Plus, he is really easy to work with. Dr. Engler is professional and available. He even gives out his cell and answers texts and phone calls promptly. I've never had a doctor text me back. His office is very nice and private and his staff is wonderful. It was overall an excellent experience. I recommend Dr. Engler very highly.

I live abroad and chose to go see Dr Engler because of the excellent reviews about him I read online. When I first met him I found him very friendly and also very practical and honest. We discussed the bits of me I didn't like and he told me what he would and wouldn't be able to do. He also suggested other bits he could improve that I hadn't even thought of.

I felt very reassured and booked my surgery that same day.

I appreciated Dr E keeping in touch during the couple of months between meeting him and my surgery. We checked in and I sent him update photos as I was working out a lot too, to get into the best shape I could achieve by myself before the surgery. By doing this I ensured getting the most exact work done for my specific needs and wants.

The whole staff at the office were amazing. So friendly and reassuring and the day of surgery I felt very well looked after. All my follow up appointments were lovely too and I felt like part of the family.

My results are great so far. I'm only 6 weeks into recovery but have a totally flat stomach. I'm someone who eats very well and works out daily but couldn't shift my little belly. I also carried extra fat on my hips. As I am short this caused me to look very pear shaped and I was unhappy and the rest of me is slim. Now my stomach is flat and I have the most kick ass slim, hour glass figure. And I'm excited to see how the rest will heal!

Where to start with Dr Engler. First of all, let me preface by saying I did meet with several well regarded/known plastic surgeons in New York City and even one in a borough to get a feel for what to expect; as well as an understanding of preferred techniques and styles. What I particularly appreciated about Dr Engler is that he has a very cautious approach and is not afraid to tell you no to procedures that will not have the best outcome for you in his extensive experience. I was impressed with his professionalism and candor as my first impression. Many of Dr Engler's personality attributes have already been commented on positively by previous posters for which I will also attest is true. His openness to discussing what the potential outcome could be went a long way to having more managed expectations toward recovery. His office staff, particularly Arlene who I interacted with frequently to ensure that I had all my pre-op steps covered was very courteous and reassuring. I have found through my previous experiences with office staff in specialist offices, the attitude of staff towards you makes a big difference to your impression of the experience of the doctor. Dr Engler, also accommodated a short notice for my surgery which I am very grateful for as I had mandatory days of vacation to take. He was very patient and helpful towards what must have been a lot of annoying specific questions prior to my surgery. Speaking of recovery, I had a particularly rough one. This was my first experience of surgery and I was in a lot of pain, more than I anticipated for the first couple of days. Dr Engler was very hands on keeping in touch with me directly several times a day and giving me comfort/advice as needed. It made a world of difference as I would have otherwise scared myself on all the possible scenarios available to me on the internet (which is never a good idea). Even though it's only been 8 days, my body already looks amazingly better and it's getting smaller every day. I could not be happier with my experience with Dr Engler and absolutely recommend him to anyone considering his specialty.

As the wife of a cardiologist, I tend to research physicians thoroughly before I would bring myself or send my family to them. My husband and I are quite aware of what can and cannot occur during procedures. I am 46 and have had large breasts since my teens. After three children and gravity taking its toll, my breasts became pendulous and saggy. My husband and I concluded the time is now to reduce them. I found Dr. Engler after much research and then saw his glowing breast reduction pictures. Many plastic surgeons show numerous breast augmentations on their websites, but, few show breast reductions. Dr. E. shows his reductions and posts frontal and side views and they are phenomenal!!! From the first 5 minutes of my consultation I knew he was the man for the job. He said that he will reduce and lift the breasts so that they will be high and firm and much more proportional for my shape and lift the nipples as well. I brought my husband down next for my pre op appointment. He asked Dr Engler about the technical and medical nature of the operation. It was 4 hours at his surgical suite under a deep sedation but not general anesthesia. We both were sooo happy the procedure would be done in that manner.
Let's cut to the chase-- My results are awesome. My breasts are firm and high with a beautiful shape. I look thinner and taller. My nipples point upwards. Their weightiness has gone. My neck pain was gone when I woke up from surgery!!! Ill be able to wear sports bras at the gym and strapless bras for dresses. Finally!!!!! Now, as I've said, Im a consummate researcher/googler etc. Ive seen horrendous pictures online from other plastic surgeons----bruising, dimpling asymmetry etc. Ive had none of that, and my scars are not eye catching. My recuperation was great. Dr. E. checked in a couple times a day with myself and husband and gave us his cell for any concerns. I was tired for the next couple of days without any pain per se and with rest was back to my old self chauffeuring 3 kids around by day 7!
Dr. Engler is a gem. He is a gentleman, scholar, and artist. Obviously, everyone has some anxiety before any surgery, but Dr. E has a way of calming one down.He is very confident in his abilities but never comes off stand-offish. His anesthesiologist was wonderful. I did not have any reaction to the anesthesia and he also was kind and professional with a lovely personality. Dr. Engler's nurse, Katy is great, with a lovely demeanor. I think his secretary, Arlene, is very friendly, competent and helpful. I was able to ask may questions and never did I feel that they felt bothered. If you are looking for a NYC plastic surgeon and office that makes you feel special and gives you beyond your desired results, call Dr. Engler.

I was 28 years old, a mother of two, with the chest of what felt like a 60 year old. For 4 years my husband did not see me with my top off. I poured myself into researching the very best doctor I could find. Who could make me feel like me again? I was extremely comfortable in my skin pre-children. Even after I had my children I loved my body, EXCEPT my chest. That was not as forgiving. Thankfully my search came to an end when one name kept popping up in my quest to find “the one.” To my surprise one of my best friends had just went through a breast implant procedure. Her case was much different than mine. She was my age but a size A cup. When I saw her results not only was I amazed at how real they looked, I was shocked when I found out that it was Dr. Engler who preformed the surgery. I knew then he was “the one.” I made my appointment that day. I had gone on many consultations before Dr. Engler so I knew what I was in for. Well, he proved me wrong. He took my case, researched what would be perfect for me, had an interior struggle with himself over the very best approach, and really understood exactly what I wanted to gain from my breast implants. He never gave me false impressions that I would be exactly what I was pre-children. My body went through an amazing experience having my children. These imperfections are my battle scars and I should be proud to wear them! He promised me that I would look in the mirror and love what I saw. That I would feel comfortable again in front of my husband, and that I would feel like a 28 year old again. He was right on the money. After fully healed I was back to me. I could not believe how real looking/feeling they were. I sang his praise to anyone who would listen. My husband on many occasions would give me a high five and say, “thank you Dr. Engler, I got my wife back.” I never thought I would have such a success story. I look at other women who were not as lucky as me. I recently begged my friend to go to Dr. Engler for a breast augmentation surgery. She only had my results to go on and that was all she needed. However, after visiting Dr. Engler and absolutely loving him she was caught in between two Dr’s. Her father was paying for the surgery and his good friend was a plastic surgeon. With the desperation of wanting to fix her chest and the lack of money, she had no choice but to go to the other doctor. She is now more unhappy with herself post surgery than she was before. Since then she has been back to see Dr Engler who is helping her to correct the mistakes of another. I have never been so pushy with others to go see a doctor than I am with Dr. Engler. My entire experience from pre to post surgery was incredible. The staff is comforting, accommodating and personable. I happen to be an extremely nervous person when it comes to medical procedures. Dr. Engler’s level of care after my surgery was shocking. He called me every 4 hours the first 2 days I was home. I called him in the middle of the night when I was nervous about something and he talked to me and helped me feel better. We emailed for about a solid month on how I was feeling and looking. He answered all my annoying questions with honestly and humor. If I can leave you with one piece of advice it would be this. Even if you are unsure about who is the right Dr. for you, take the time to visit him. Hear what he has to say. Listen to his wisdom. He is a master in his craft. It is rare these days to come across a doctor with such warmth and compassion. It was refreshing to me! What he did for my life is nothing I could ever repay him for. Thank you Dr. Engler for giving me my confidence back!

I came to see Dr. Engler for liposuction of the outer thighs and hips, and also for breast implants (my second pair). I had spent about six months searching for just the right surgeon, and when I met Doctor Engler I knew he was the one.

Not only were his reviews stellar, they were consistent. All of them seemed to rave about the same things: his warm and patient demeanor, the unrushed no-pressure consultation, and the dedicated post-op care. I am happy to say, I experienced all of this for myself firsthand.

My first consultation must have lasted at least an hour and a half. He answered every question, explained all risks involved, and made sure we were on the same page about what kind of results to expect. When I explained to him that my first pair of implants were 15 years old and due for replacement, he assured me that unless size preference was the issue, they weren't in need of replacing. It was the last thing I expected to hear, and it became clear to me that this doctor was more concerned with me making the right decision for my body, and less concerned about "making the sale". I knew before I left that day that I would be booking my surgeries with him.

Once the date had been chosen, I was given simple and thorough instructions to follow, including a very detailed packet of information that mostly reflected what we had discussed during my consultation. This was very helpful, as there are many things to remember before a surgery and it was nice to have all of the info in one place for reference. A few times before the surgery I called with a question I had forgotten to ask, and I was never rushed off the phone or made to wait forever on hold. His staff is every bit as warm and friendly as I had read about in the reviews, and they knew my name and remembered me every time I called or came in.

The surgery was a huge success, and the recovery was pretty much exactly what I expected, and just as Dr. Engler had described. He called me every day for the first week and made sure we had his personal cell phone number in case it was needed. The one time I called him off-hours, he picked up before the second ring and knew exactly who was calling! We made several appointments during the next two weeks, and he kept a constant eye on my progress as I healed. This was a pretty major surgery and so many things can go wrong if you choose the wrong doctor, but I feel that I was in good hands every step of the way.

My results are fantastic. I now have the breasts I've always wanted, and I can't believe how much softer they are compared to my first pair. The way they move and feel is much more natural than what I had before, and I am looking forward to the upcoming bikini season for sure! My hips and thighs are now slim and smooth, my lipo scars are barely visible, and there are no bumps or dimples at all. I struggled with my thighs for so many years, and for the first time in my life I feel comfortable in short dresses. I'm no longer worried about wearing yoga pants in public, and I feel as if I can wear anything I want now!

I could not have hoped for a better experience, and I feel truly lucky that I found Doctor Engler. He is professional, honest, patient, and kind. I highly recommend him, and will surely return to him if I ever decide to have another procedure.

My results are f*ing awesome!!

That was my exact statement when I came to my first visit to Dr. Engler post surgery of my lipo and mini tummy tuck. It’s still almost impossible for me to believe that I look this amazing after living with a ‘spare tire’ practically my entire life. I am doing double and triple takes in the mirror! I’m a 42 yo male who weight trains 5 days a week at the gym, runs about 25 miles per week, eats very clean, almost paleo, and still could not rid this area of my body. I currently weigh 180lbs but have weighed as much as 285lbs in highschool. I should also mention that my mother and my two older brothers, one over-weight and one in-shape, also possess the spare tire and the same exact looking love handles. When I entered college at 18 yo, my weight began to drop, partially because I changed my eating habits and started to exercise. This lifestyle of eating better and exercise felt really good but that tire was still there. Also excessive skin around my stomach also started to develop because of the weight-loss. I was very dedicated to getting rid of it, so I was working out constantly and eating a completely raw foods diet. My weight dropped to 165lbs. but even then I still had a spare tire and love handles, much smaller, but still there nonetheless. After that I didn’t give up on my body, I still watched what I ate and love going to the gym and being active but I had to accept that this is the way my body is and always going to be. I was always going to be stretching my shirts out, cropping photos, not being able to wear fitted shirts, being embarrassed to talk off my shirt at the pool. Last November, I was in Palm Springs with a group of friends and we were going out to lay by the pool in the warm sun. When we got there everyone stripped down to bathing suits and I was still with my shirt on, embarrassed to take it off. I was so sick of feeling like this and being this way! When I arrived back in NYC I called a friend who had liposuction surgery from Dr. Engler and it looked truly amazing. I immediately set up an appointment to see him. When I got there, I was greeted by a very welcoming staff and Dr. Engler answered all of my questions that I had and invited me to contact him with anymore questions that I might have had. It wasn’t necessary to think about this long. A few days later I made my surgery date. The surgery went smoothly and the initial results were immediate. I was speechless, its seriously beyond a dream come true, and I don’t say that lightly. My stomach was practically flat and my love handles gone. The follow-up/aftercare is excellent and thorough. I had so many questions and felt like I could ask them all, even the most obvious ones. I would highly recommend making an appointment with Dr. Engler, it truly is the best and most satisfying decision I have ever made!

After having a partial mastectomy as a result of breast cancer, I didn't want to think about another surgery until recently. I researched many doctors, and decided on Dr. E. First of all, the initial consultation was free! Other doctors were charging a lot just to tell you what to do.
During the initial consultation Dr. E told me what he can and can't do. I wasn't pressured to decide. Dr. E and his staff were very caring and professional. They were extremely patient with my several calls full of questions. When I decided to have surgery, I was given all pre and post operation instructions.
I had my surgery in Albert Einstein hospital. That hospital has such an amazing team of nurses. They take care of you so well. I think that was the reason Dr. Engler chose that hospital. He wanted his patients to be very well cared for. After the pre-operation prep, Dr.E called my home and informed them about the pre-op. After 4 hours of surgery he called my home again to update on my progress. The next day and there after, he called me twice a day and made his cell phone line available for any discomfort I may have. After almost two months now, he regularly sees me to check on the progress of healing.
Since my initial visit I was always treated very kindly and professionally by Dr.E and his staff. I can honestly say that I didn't even have such an experience with my previous surgeon. I was so lucky to have you as my surgeon Dr. Engler. Thank you millions!

I couldn't be happier with my choice of Dr Engler for my liposuction. I had planned on visiting other well rated surgeons too, but felt so comfortable with Dr Engler straight away that I knew he was the right person. He was not pushy in any way and I knew would not touch areas that didn't need it.

He was very accommodating in fitting me in for a surgery date and conversing via email while I was overseas. By the second visit I was treated like a friend. I had almost no nerves going into surgery as was had established a real trust very quickly. All his staff and the anaesthetist, Dr Douglas Kornreich, were fabulous too. My boyfriend came in with me before the surgery and has been so impressed with Dr E that he is considering surgery himself.

A couple of days before the surgery, my boyfriend had asked if I was having the small patch of fat on my inner knees done. It hand't occurred to me before and all the other surgery was at the top of my legs or higher. I asked Dr E if we could consider it and with no problem he said we'd just look at it when I came in on surgery day. There was no discussion about further payment and he just made it happen - simple and easy.

I have helped friends through surgeries before and feel this was a better process. The markings on my body were subtle, unlike some of the cases I've seen. As I woke up, I was comfortable, already girdled and the lovely nurse was on hand whenever I wanted water for my dry throat. I couldn't have been better looked after getting wheeled to the car by Dr E with a lollypop. It was nothing like the sloppy uncomfortable messes of friends I've had to deal with when they are released into my care. Even though I was stiff and tender, I was happy and found the next two days pretty easy - I mainly slept. Dr E called us regularly to check in, so I felt enormously cared for.

The following days were tougher and the twilight anaesthetic completely left my system and I found how badly my body deals with Percocet, Vicodin and muscle relaxer. In my medicated state, it hand't occurred to me to taper down faster and I ended up with a spinning head and ringing in my ears for days, but there is really no-one to blame. It is now day 10 and I have only been able to have Tylenol, as I let my body get clear of the other meds. Lipo is painful and Tylenol really isn't enough at some times yet. Dr E was as helpful as could be. At first I had thought I would need more Percocet and he went out of his way to get me a prescription - really fabulous of him. When it became clear I needed the opposite, he supported me through the come-down instead.

I would advise anyone considering lipo to clear your calendars as much as possible for the first week, which is a balance between pain and being out of it on meds. I've been reasonably active around the house in the last few days and I certainly feel it.

The bruising is starting to go down. I'm too swollen to tell about my shape, but Dr E is very happy (he really lifted my spirits during my check-up) and my boyfriend can see the difference and potential. The incisions are so well hidden on my tail bone, in the crease at the top of my legs and my knee crease.

During the check-up, Dr E asked if the nurse and great assistant could take a look while I had the girdle off and it was like having two friends so excited for me and impressed with what they had all achieved together. You never feel like just one of the many patients in this place.

I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Engler.
