Horrible Horrible Horrible experience! I was referred to Dr. Dyas by my surgeon. I made an appointment with Dr. Dyas office three weeks in advance. I arrived for my appointment 10 minutes early and completed paperwork. After waiting for 1 hour and 15 minutes for my appointment, I asked the girl at the front desk how much longer I would have to wait. I was told there were still 4 patients ahead of me and to expect at least another 1 hour wait. After several minutes I asked to speak with the office manager. The office manager confirmed there were 4 additional patients ahead of me and it would most likely be at least another 1 hour wait. I informed her to cancel my appointment, tear up my paperwork and DO NOT bill my insurance company for any charges. I told the office manager as well as the girl at the front desk that it is very obvious that Dr. Dyas has NO respect for my time. I am self employed and I would never ever treat one of my customers so disrespectfully. I consider my time to be just as valuable to me as his time is to him. His tardiness clearly showed me how rude and disrespectful he is. I would never give my money or allow my medical insurance company to pay their money to someone so rude and disrespectful! When I arrived for my appointment, the girl at the front desk should have made me aware they are GREEDY and overbook appointments. Then I would have had the choice to wait or cancel instead of wasting 2 hours of my time after having driven from out of town to his office in Mobile, AL.
If you plan to use Dr. Dyas services, be sure to ask whether or not he plans to respect your time or he plans to make you wait indefinitely to see him. My final thought is two fold. It's all about communication. What is the purpose of scheduling appointments if you are never able to stick to an appointment schedule (I was told by the girl at the front desk that long waits are common practice everyday at Dr. Dyas office). Why not just have people show up for first come first serve to be waited on by the doctor. Also, if this is the daily norm of having extensive wait times, the girls at the front desk should make patients aware when scheduling appointments or when you arrive for your appointment. They don't tell you this upfront because they have NO respect for patients time, they are GREEDY and trap you in hopes you will stay the wait and sit it out. Other sheeples might do it but NOT ME!!
