Staff is pleasant. Dr Von Holten is CRAZY. He talks down to you, throws his pad around. Very disrespectful. Thinks he know everything. Says I am hurting because my cancer has probably spread.. Horrible bedside manners. Thinks a lot of himself though. Very very arrogant. Very sad that Freeman has his employed. He needs to be working in a clinic for colds and fevers.

I agree with most other reviews he doesn't listen to patients he is rude and acts better than you because you didn't go to medical school. Didn't care enough to ask me about my SEIZURE medicine which is super important because he kept trying to argue that I've been misdiagnosed and might need surgery. His repeated usage of words like "intertesting" made me feel like a science lab experiment that he thought would be cool. I expressed my concern of him not caring about me as a person and he got arragont, rude and suggested I see another doctor. Staff were nice though if only they were in charge

Dr. Von Holten has helped MANY people move upward in the way they feel and in their overall health. I am thankful he is in Joplin. He's actually smarter than most doctors. He is on the cutting edge of reality and what really works. I would compare him to Doctor Oz in helping with a natural flare of logic rather than dangerous medicines.

I agree with another patient that posted. The staff are awesome but Von Holten is like a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. He talks sports with me on one visit and 3 months later he is calling me a liar because my diabeties took a turn for the worse even though I was taking my meds faithfully. When my blood sugar and blood pressure went off the charts he accused me of lying to him for not taking my meds only because I had missed a previous appointment. I WAS taking my meds. I only missed this one apptmnt because I couldn't afford it. He has done this cycle several times within the last 3 years. I have also been taking pain meds for chronic neck pain and post concussive headaches from a horrible wreck in '94 that my previous 2 doctors had prescribed me for pain management. He threatened to remove me from these meds if I missed another appointment (I missed a total of 1 appointment) as if he was going to punish me, insinuating pain pills were nothing more than a recreation. Look elsewhere for a dr.

I had heard great things about this doctor. Have been going to him for a few years. But my experience is that he is very thorough and respectful on some visits but appears to be a different person on other visits (patently false medical information, shows no respect, has no memory of prior treatments or diagnoses until forced to look in his notes). I don't know what to think of this doctor. I worry about him and his patients.

First time visit, Dr. Vonholten and his staff were head and shoulders above the staff of others I had previously been acquainted with. My heartfelt thanks for making me feel comfortable and for not making me feel like I was wasting your time. I would recommend this medical facility to those who need some tlc as well as professional medical treatment. All of those I encountered gave the impression that they liked their jobs and were very comprehensive/knowledgable in their given positions. thanks again. Deborah
