Dr. Kerner saw my daughter and we were both impressed with how knowledgeable and thorough he was. He took his time with us and answered our questions. Due to managed care payments, doctors are forced to see more patients than they would like per hour. Dr. Kerner did not seem to be in a hurry to rush us through. I would recommend him highly.

Worst experience. Zero patient care. All about bottom line and scripts. Don't waste your time! Staff seems unhappy which is a red flag. He's probably awful to his staff as well. Didn't listen. Rushed me out and didn't explain anything.

Absolutely WORST staff I have ever dealt with in my life! Extremely rude and unhelpful. When I was a new patient, waited 15 minutes just to have someone open the sliding glass door to ask if I needed help. I then waited another 50 minutes to be called by to the room, during which I found out 2 other people had the same appointment time as I did. We were all new patients. Dr. Kerner himself seemed like a nice and knowledgable doctor in the 3 minutes we spoke. I had to take a test a week later and was told I would not need an appointment. The nurse who "helped" me was very rude and snotty. She made me feel like I was wasting her time. When I took the test and asked if anything were left to do, she responded to make a follow-up which I said "I already have one, I made it last time I was here." The expression on her face looked like I slapped her grandma. Not sure what the problem with that was, but I obviously wasn't supposed to make follow-ups without her approval.

This doctor charges you by the time he spends with you, in increments of 5 minutes. He runs in doesn't ask questions, prescribes you something that will work in 3 months and schedules more appointments in between. The problem ended up not being solved and he had to refer me to someone else and I still got charged for the referral. Worst doctor experience I've ever had. He actually made my problems worth and drained my bank account.

Dr. Kerner is great IF (and only if) you understand WHAT your insurance covers and what it does not. ALSO it is extremely important if you have United Healthcare to understand that they are NOT preferred providers. Dr. Kerner accepts United Healthcare BUT charges whatever he likes since he doesn't have to follow the pricing guidelines designated for United Healthcare Providers. The first time I went to see him for a thorough skin check, I didn't have insurance, and he only charged me $75 for the visit. The next time I went in with limited Student Resources United Healthcare, but it ultimately covered NONE of the visit or lab work SINCE I was not (thankfully) diagnosed with skin cancer. My insurance does NOT cover precancerous skin conditions whatsoever. Dr. Kerner did reduce it a little when he realized my insurance wouldn't cover it, but not much. My out of pocket for doctor's visit... $202 - Diagnostic reading of tissue... $163 - Prescription... $189. Know BEFORE you go!
