I am writing this on behalf of my daughter, who was rushed to Memorial Hospital because she was in her 8th month of pregnancy. She was rushed to Memorial Hospital by ambulance because she was hemorrhaging. After an emergency C-section, the post-op nurse forgot to hook her up to painkillers and kept jumping on my daughter's stomach to try to get the blood that had accumulated in her uterus. The nurse completely ignored my daughter's plea to please give her painkillers and she was IGNORED by this post-op nurse. The nurse would not speak one word or her, and kept typing on a computer. The nurse would suddenly approach my daughter without warning and press down hard on her abdomen. Another nurse came in and spoke to my daughter in a very nice way and discovered that the first nurse hadn't hooked up the pain medication for my daughter. It was told to us later on that my daughter's placenta ripped from her uterus and caused her uterus to be raw inside her, leaving her uterus raw and bruised inside. The baby, as a result, swallowed copious amounts of blood. It was feared that my daughter would "bleed out." The post-op nurse assigned to my daughter was a sadist, and seemed to enjoy hurting her. We reported this nurse to the floor supervisor, but never got feedback about what punishment, if any, was given to the nurse. We were told that this nurse in post-op was a nice, respected nurse, and that it was probably a "busy" day, but that doesn't explain why my daughter was not given any pain medication after she was torn up inside, and had a C-section. The nurse needs to be fired. I will say that the neo-natal nurses that cared for the baby were excellent, and provided exemplary care for my grandson. Beware of the post-op nurse, however. I'm sure she's still there, since medical personnel tend to keep silent about such things.
