I want to start this by saying I have truly enjoyed taking my new born son Luca to.see Dr.Hayes. He.is intelligent, thorough, and caring. His office staff however...Not so much. My Wife and I work very.hard to provide too notch insurance and care for our children. EVERY TIME we go into the office we are told we owe nothing and are good to go. Then...sure enough...2 weeks later we get a bill. We call and they ALWAYS say the same thing, "Oh, it's a mistake. Disregard. You're good to go." As annoying as that has been for 10 months we've dealt with it because we love the doctor. Now...we got a bill $1800 so we call and ask and the office personnel informs us it was their fault because they didn't file the claim in time and they write it off. We were told to disregard again. Behold...2 weeks later we get the same bill again. My Wife calls in and.speaks to Judy. Judy belittles my Wife on the phone stating it is OUR job to get this cleared up and NOT hers to do, mind you, my Wife works in billings for Pediatrics of Novant and knows the process, she tells Judy that she has already contacted our provider and they simply stated the office didn't file the claim in time so it will not be paid. Same thing we were told last time. Judy goes OFF on my Wife to the point she is almost in tears. This has gone too far. I will be lodging a formal complaint to the medical board in Raleigh on the ethics and behaviors of this office staff and consistent mishandling of sensitive paperwork and timely manner in which items are processed to which Judy feels is OUR fault when we do not work there. I hate to leave Dr.Hayes but Judy is absolutely a terrible representative of the practice and I could care less how long she has worked there. The ball is being dropped somewhere...Not from us. We are good parents who provide everything for our children. We do not deserve to be treated this way at all. Sadly...we will be finding a new pediatrician due to the work ethics of Nurse Judy.

Judy Daniels is the rudest person I have ever met. She is a miserable soul and takes it out on Dr. Hayes patients. Dr. Hayes would be ok if it wasn't for her.

Some of the most unfriendly staff I've ever encountered. One nurse does not need to be working with children. Dr. Hayes wants to be respected, but does not even speak to my daughter when he walks in the room.

I too left this practice because I felt like I was being asked to come back so often. The money was not the issue it was the wait time. It was nothing to wait an hour or more to see the doc once you got in the room. When I changed to a new practice they requested my childs records 3 different times. No response. I had to call this office only to be told I needed to pay $15.00 before they would release them. No one ever notified me of this. How hard is it to pick up the phone? I love our new practice. No regrets here.

I have heard many stories about Dr. Hayes ordering "too many tests" and insisting on rechecks, but I have never experienced this. My son is 11 years old and my daughter is eight and I have never had anything to complain about. Dr. Hayes has been more than accomodating to me and my family. My son was born on a Thursday evening in Charlotte and Saturday morning, amidst a snow storm, at 6:00 in the morning I called Dr. Hayes because I was worried about my newborn. I had never met him, had never been to his office, but told him that he was the pediatrician we had chosen and was going to be using him. Dr. Hayes met me at his office at 7:00am on a Saturday morning to see my child and parents he had never met before. At the end of the visit, where he found nothing wrong but a nervous new mother, he proceeded to give me his home phone number because he knew I was a VERY NERVOUS new mother. This did it for me and I couldn't be happier still today. I love everyone there!

Dr. Hayes and his staff are the rudest, most condescending people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. All three of my children were under his care and subjected to countless unnecessary tests and procedures. Their only goal is to get as much money from you and your insurance as possible. They don't care about their patients and only see dollar signs. We were always forced to come in the very next morning following each appointment for a "re-check" and when I got tired of it and told Dr. Hayes I didn't feel my daughter needed to be seen again the next morning, he refused to give us her prescription for antibiotics until we came back the next day. She was so sick she needed to be seen again 14 hours later but he refused to give her medicine until we came in the next day?!?! Now that we are trying to leave the practice, they are refusing to release the medical records until I pay them a $30 fee. If you are searching for a ped for your child, KEEP LOOKING!

I have to agree that anyone would be better of finding another Ped. I too used Dr Hayes as our Ped for many years only to be "released" from his care by a certified letter when I questioned his method of treatment for my child. It wasn't a shock and I had already begun looking for a MD that would work "with" me not "against" me in my childs care. He may be knowledgable but he is short tempered, rude to his staff at times made me uncomfortable in the way he looked at me :-(

I took my children there for over 5 years, then they refused to see my very sick 4 month old daughther because I owed them $55 which the insurance company sent them a check for 3 days before I requested an appointment. They told me "today is the day you need to find a new peditrician" and "I don't care where you take your children". Dr Hayes must be in it all for the money since he refused to see a very sick 4 month old baby due to $55 when the check would be there the same day or the next.
