Dr. Ely is by far the most unprofessional, rude, ignorant doctor I've ever, in 60 years, had the displeasure of dealing with. I lay stunned in a hospital bed as she shouted at me that despite the fact that my condition continued to escalate, she was choosing to cancel several tests I was prescheduled to undergo. During my stay I had been given no pain medication, though she suggested that I was drug addicted. When the nurse tried to explain to her that I'd not received any pain medication, she then turned her shouting rampage to the nurse, who was clearly shocked and intimidated. When I recited the incident to other hospital personnel, they indicated this was consistent with her past behavior and that many patients had filed complaints regarding treatment received by Dr. Ely. They also informed me that in the future I have the right to refuse her as my attending doctor while in the hospital. I will surely do so, and I recommend anyone else who encounters Dr. Ely do the same.
