This man is a sorry excuse for a human being regardless of his medical competence. His name came up in a conversation recently and I realized it has been a while since I reviewed him and shared information. If you are OVERWEIGHT..... DO NOT SEE THIS MAN!!! He is rude, jidgemental, and actually put my health at risk because of his prejudice! He operated on me in 1998.... I was an obese but healthy 28/year-old with a huge gallstone and gallbladder disease. He did an unnecessary 4-liter fluid challenge on me the night before surgery, the surgery took 4 hours (instead of the 1.5 that he told me) but never sent word to my family about what was going on, discharged me late at night within 4 hours of the lengthy surgery, and then discharged me home on TYLENOL for pain!!! When I pages him that night crying in pain he said 'if the Tylenol isn't working, then take motrin' as he slammed the phone down in my ear. I had to camp out at his office the next day (thankfully his nurse was a former colleague of mine) until he finally prescribed me 10 Vicodin to get through the initial post-oo pain. However, he also released me to go back to work 5 days later with an open draining wound (as a staff nurse in the same hospital). He informed me that my 'severe obesity' was to blame for the wound and NOT a reason to miss work; '[I] should be up moving more to burn calories.' So if you're overweight, take matters into your own hands and ask for a new surgeon! If you read other reviews, you will see his pattern for his miserable concern for obese patients.

I am pleased with the surgery, but very upset because the doctor hires contractors to join in the surgery. I received a $4,530.00 bill a month after my surgery for supposedly his assistant during the surgery. I called the manager and she said that the doctor needs an assistant. So why hire a company that runs out of New York who charges double than what the doctor charges and that won't be covered by the insurance company. Dr. Dobradin only charged 2080.00 ; this doesn't make sense. I saw him before surgery, but he didn't check up on me after surgery. I will never return to his office.

I am very pleased with Dr. Dobradin and would definitely use him again if I ever needed another surgery. My colon resection surgery was my first surgery and Dr. Dobradin was always very positive and explained everything in much needed detail. He knew I was very scared and he reassured me all would be ok. Its been 5 weeks and I am doing well. I found Dr. Dobradin to be extremely intelligent and very confident in his work. His attitude and confidence in himself is why I chose him to be my surgeon.

I highly recommend Dr. Dobradin. He is an excellent surgeon. He's to the point, he's punctual and very helpful. I thought he was friendly and I'm happy with the results. I will definitely be going back to him if, God forbid, I need surgery again in the future.

My whole experience was great, including Dr. Dobradin's staff. Everyone was helpful and they were always happy to answer my questions.

Superb! :)

I had my gall bladder removed by Dr. Dobradin. He was professional, informative, and knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a capable surgeon and would return to him again for future surgeries if needed.

Might be knowledgeable, but a doctor needs to be polite to his/her patients which he really lacks. Doesn't have any people skills, or manners and doesn't know how to talk to people politely.

Dr. Andrew Dobradin's response
I am sorry that you feel this way. I would be remiss in my duty as a physician if I did not sometimes have tough conversations with patients, even if they were simply referred to me for a specific concern that had nothing to do with an issue as sensitive as excess weight.

Obesity causes numerous serious health issues, many of which can be alleviated with weight loss, even perhaps the very issue for which the patient was referred to me. I care enough about every patient to offer sound advice, and it may be the first time the patient is hearing it.

For some people, it is difficult to face up to their problems, and they would rather attack someone who is looking out for their best interests. If you would like to discuss your concerns with me, I would be happy to talk to you. Please call.

cannot believe the bad reviews,Once you start talking to him,he opens up.I found him to be friendly, informative, professional and quite understanding. He is cut and dry when it comes to answers=guess that offends many people-I find it charming-says what he means and that's it-refreshing.I had surgery performed by him two years ago with excellent results and am going back in February-get past the bad reviews,he is the best

I had my gallbladder surgically removed by Dr Dobradin last Tuesday. He came by my hospital room on Monday night to meet me and ask me some questions. Personally, I thought that he was very pleasant, personable, and funny. After he asked me some medical questions, we even chatted for a bit. He came by to see me before the surgery, and I'm really confused why people say that he's in unpleasant, especially for overweight people - I am very overweight. Perhaps it's because he looks a bit intimidating? Don't know... I would HIGHLY recommend him and go to him again if, God forbid, I ever needed to.

AFTER READING HIS REVIEWS I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT HE MUST HAVE SOMETHING AGAINST PEOPLE WHO ARE OVERWEIGHT. I GUESS THE OTHER GOOD REVIEWS WERE FROM SLIM PEOPLE BECAUSE HE WAS VERY INCONSIDERATE , NO COMPASSION. BLUNT. I HAVE NEVER FELT SO HUMILIATED IN MY LIFE.I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!
