Avoid at all costs, especially if you have chronic Lyme. She has no idea how to treat it and she is more interested in collecting your payment than she is in helping you get better. Staff is outrageously disorganized - if you have to submit to your insurance their bills are a nightmare (handwritten and usually containing tons of errors). Email communication from staff is spotty and sometimes completely non-sensical. She is always in a rush: she read my labs for the first time while I was on the phone with her (while charging me by the minute), she forgot important case details and send me medications that I was allergic to on two occasions, and then had the audacity to argue with me about how it wasn't her fault (despite the fact that it was on my intake form AND I reminded her when it happened the first time). She would habitually cut me off when I had additional questions and she literally scolded me for not following her email instructions exactly (for intake forms)...all the while knowing I had a severe neurological condition that affected my ability to process written information. She also rescheduled several appointments in a row with no explanation, so I was going without care for MONTHS on end for my chronic condition (I found another doctor so that wouldn't be the case). She also failed to acknowledge and treat a key part of my case, even though it showed up in my labs. Please, please, please don't waste your time or money on this one.

I have been a patient of Dr Lehman for approximately 6 years. She is one of the most intelligent physicians I have ever encountered! In addition, I find her to be compassionate and very diligent in her care. The staff is also aware of the many problems of patients' needs. It is definitely worth the trip to Los Angeles to have her on your side. Very few doctors have the training, knowledge, and compassion to care for Lyme and other tick-borne diseases as Dr. Lehman. She is great!!!

Dr. Leahman is the the best in the Lyme field period! I have been to 2 other Lyme Drs that I had to travel to see because they were a big name in the Lyme world, she blows them away in knowledge and bedside manor. You want a Dr who will actually listen she is for you, yes there are supplements you need them in order to make the whole body function, you don't have to buy them from her I have actually price checked and she is the same price on most of them as a direct buy. Lyme Dr's don't take insurance so to say she is outrageously priced reflects the lack of knowledge on insurance and Lyme. I was bedridden for 2 months under another Dr's care once under Dr Leahmans care right away she got me better enough to be a mom and a wife. I have been under her treatment for a year and I am almost in remission. The downfall of the practice is the hours and shared office space. She and her staff are very part time, on the days they are here it is from 10-3 making it really hard for working people and some protocols require you to be at her office 2 times per week for injections. Since it is a shared space she has no representation at the front desk there have been a few times I waited a long time because the person at the front desk (who works for the other practice) did not tell Dr Leahman's staff I was there. Although the office hours are short I have never had a problem reaching Dr Leahmen outside of these hours she ALWAYS responds.

Dr. Lehman has been a godsend to my family. Two of us were FINALLY diagnosed after years of useless, uneducated doctors. She has literally saved our lives. I'm almost through with treatment and wouldn't be here without her guidance and incredibly attentive care. Lyme disease is not covered by insurance because of the idiotic CDC guidelines so it's mostly out of pocket and expensive. But of all the other Lyme specialists I looked into, Dr. Lehman's rates were some of the most reasonable. She also has a team of other doctors who work with her on every aspect of your whole body illness. She cares so much about her patients' path to great health. She's brilliant and always learning more about this monster of a disease and best and new treatment/diagnostic practices. Every day I am thankful that we found her and have continually recommended her to others all over the country.

I hope people find this review site before seeing her. This dr has an INFLATED idea of her importance. She completely missed our first appt I dragged my sick daughter to. No apologies, has been late for everything since, loses paperwork and tries to make the strangest lies to excuse her disorganization. Even arguing with me that I had it wrong. She has a stressful demeanor, talking 90mph and charges outrageously for her time. A phone consult that she was 2 HOURS late for, she made sure to charge me HUNDREDS for going over by 5 minutes. Which was because she decided to look over test results WHILE ON THE PHONE, MY TIME that she had had and misplaced for WEEKS. I've never experienced a "professional" like her in my life. And yes, her assistant is just as bad, there is a weird symbiotic dynamic between them.

She seems knowledgeable but extremely disorganized with terrible staff that keeps changing and knows nothing about this profession. She just sells you a bunch of supplements which did nothing for my case. She had the result of my test for several weeks and never called me. I do not recommend this doctor.

I am a patient of Dr. Lehman's and have to go in weekly (at least) for treatment from Jose.
Yes - Jose can be hard to get ahold of. Sometimes I have to wait a while in the waiting room.
BUT - this is a practice with two people. I don't agree with the other reviews stating that Dr. Lehman is uneducated and a bad doctor. She has shown me genuine compassion and care through this awful process of treating Lyme and Co-Infections.

Almost no insurance covers this. I pay out of pocket and am very fortunate that I can afford to do so. If you need the help with insurance, I don't think this is the doctor for you.

Thankful I have met her on my journey to a healthier life.

Dr Lehman would not even dial into a telephone meeting with my insurance to help me gain authorization for treatment, which made me quit treatment due to cost. 10 minutes of her time on a call is all it would have taken. The worst part is her assistant, Jose. What a joke. He is horrible with follow through, does not return messages, and calls in incorrect prescriptions. The worst of his behaviors is that he does not care about finding a home health care provider that is on my insurance. Upon complaining to Dr Lehman about the assistant, Dr Lehman sided with the assistant and seemed agitated that I complained. Recommend you do NOT use Dr Lehman for Lyme treatment.
