I saw this doctor today for the first day. My so. Has been having hand tremors at 15. She wasn't the most overallyveffectio ate doctor but was very professional. She gave him his exam. Told me she thought it could be essential tremors. She said it was going to overkill but ordered the MRI to be on the safe side. She wasn't quick to dismiss us. By the way we waited an hour to be seen. But this is normal for a specialist.

It really troubles me to read these reviews after having brought my child to this Dr.I only wish I had read them before ,being that I usually will do research on most everything I do or purchase. But with my most important part of my life (my child) I just assumed that Dr.Andriola being affiliated with Stony brook and all was excellent.Well was I wrong ,that is why I now go well prepared to any Dr. I may I have to see.I do plenty of research so that I'am armed with a wealth of information. Most of which a Dr. Will not take the liberty of telling you.My son was seen for all of ten minutes ,while the Dr. Stopped to take a phone call. She wrote a script,LIED to me about the side affects when asked, as far as losing weight and stunting growth. She then sent us over for an EEG,which by the way came back very normal.I chose not to give my son the stimulants she prescribed.Be very weary if a Dr.Andriola prescribes meds on first visit.Always get a second opinion, and never be intimidated or nervous about voicing your concerns or opinions. After all you know your child best. This is a very snippy elderly neurologist that has very little patience left for her profession.Im sure she is extremely intelligent as all neurologists are but at some point in life with there mind going 24/7 the will burn out,and as a result her mannerism and judgement has clearly shown that.

My son spent almost a year and a half hospitalized because of uncontrollable seizures. Some of the doctors told me there was nothing left they could do for my son.(He was having hundreds of seizures every day) He suffered terribly, than Dr Andriola accepts a position at Stonybrook and fights with the other neurologist to get my child on a compassionate use drug. After Dr Andriola fought hard to get my child on this drug, My child hasn't been hospitalized since. I wasn't crazy about her bed-side manner as the neurologist before her had a wonderful bed-side manner. But, my child suffered terribly under his care. Dr Andriola is extremely intelligent and will fight for the best treatments for your child... if you have a very sick child, that's what you want in a doctor.

This woman - I refrain from using the word doctor - is one of the most heartless, uncaring, thoughtless, unprofessional, people I have ever had the sad luck of meeting. Our special needs child was given a cursory inspection and we were told to put her in a home and forget about her as there was no hope, she would never know love, never know us and was not worth the effort. With our mouths open in stunned amazement she then asked us to wait while we watched her walk over to the phone to make a call. After 10 minutes she came back and with a huff asked us to leave as her office was closing. This was 2 days before Christmas. We recieved our Christmas present 3 weeks later when we met the staff at NYU and now, 5 years later our daughter is doing well to the best of her ability, knows us, knows love, and happily goes to school. This woman is not only gives doctors a bad name , she gives humanity a bad name. You cannot stay far enough away from her.

Although she came highly recommended we haven't had very good experiences with her. Most of the time we dealt with her Fellow. We have waited anywhere from 1 hour to 2 1/2 hours for our appts. She has spoken on the phone to other doctors about other patients while we were in the room with her after waiting 2 1/2 hours to be seen. She showed no warmth nor attention to our son (her patient). She appeared to get annoyed and snippy when we asked too many or the wrong types of questions. During the hardest time of our life with our young son's health dealing with her made it even worse. We have since switched to a neurologist at NYU and we already see a huge difference.

I would never refer her to anyone. She overmedicated my infant and didn't care that he just sat there smiling all day and didn't make any sound or movements as long as he wasn't falling asleep. She dictates other cases while your in the room with her. Would pick up the phone while in the middle of talking to you about your child and ask her staff about other children. Very unprofessional.
