Dr Apostle performed 3 foot surgeries on me within 2 years. After seeing my GP for nearly 8 months undiagnosed, within 5 minutes of seeing Dr Apostle she knew exactly what was wrong. I found her very knowledgeable and caring. Returned to her several years later for a knee issue, she quickly referred me to a colleague for a knee replacement. ( was told I’d never be able to have one!). Highly recommend her.

Dr. Apostle did surgery on my femur in July 2023. I had a follow up Xray in Oct. and she was very friendly, helpful, and kind. She offered to make herself available at any time I needed more information. She seemed 'to the point' but definitely caring. She clearly is very busy, but she was on time for me and I felt safe in her hands.

Dr. Apostle performed hallux fusion on my left foot in 2019. My experience with her was so traumatic that it has taken me this long to be able to share it publicly. She was patronizing, unhelpful and unsympathetic from our first meeting, yelling at me for not getting the surgery sooner. I did not want to proceed with the surgery with such an inhumane physician but was told I had not other option. I had hoped her professional skills with the knife would far outweigh her horrendous bedside manner. I was wrong. She did not answer my questions regarding the procedure beforehand, and made fun of me for asking her to try to preserve my tattoo.
Her aftercare consisted of a few perfunctory appointments, during which she dismissed my concerns regarding persistent pain. She kept saying that the pain was not her problem, and that the x-rays looked fine. This went on for over a year, until I could barely walk and could not put weight on my foot. When I suggested that the implant might be causing my pain and maybe we should remove it, she said that wasn't necessary.
When my leg collapsed underneath me, I finally went to the emergency room. They tried to refer me back to her but I insisted on seeing another surgeon. Long story short, in 2021 another other surgeon removed the implant and reconstructed my even more damaged foot. I still have pain, but a lot less than before.
Dr. Apostle caused me untold suffering. She is mean, dismissive, unprofessional, and in my opinion should not be allowed to practice.

I was referred here because the wait times were short. I’m assuming the wait times are short because no one wants to go back to see her. It was a negative experience start to finish. It was impossible to talk to anyone on the phone. Communicating by email is inefficient. The website gave incorrect information about parking and location. After struggling to get an appointment, I got a phone call on a number that was not my preferred contact stating if I didn’t call back within a few hours, my appointment was canceled. I was promised a requisition for x-rays would be sent to the clinic next-door, which was not done. When I spoke to the receptionist, it took her 2 to 3 minutes on both occasions to look up from her screen to acknowledge I was there. I was asked to fill out a questionnaire that should’ve been emailed to me, but I filled it out at the office. I was seen by a resident and was not informed or asked for my consent to be examined by a resident. He did not greet me by name. He asked me all the same questions that were on the questionnaire. He asked me , what medication are we on which was very patronizing. He and Dr. Apostle spoke outside the office door and I could hear what was being said. Dr. Apostle spent approximately five minutes with me or less in the office. Like the resident she did not greet me by name. She spoke about me to the resident as I as if I wasn’t in the office. She was perfunctory. She may be knowledgeable, but I was so turned off by the whole experience that I knew I would never come back to that office so I didn’t ask her many questions. I will be asking for a referral to a different surgeon iat a different clinic .

I was very pleased with Dr Apostle & Desiree, they were always puntual returning my emails within 24 hrs. I found Dr Apostle to be very professional, her anaesthesia (can’t recall her name) and other attending nursing staff in the O.R. Were very kind and comforting to me, as I felt very confident in Dr Apostle with her diagnosis in correcting my toes due to from bunion surgery 30 yrs ago that didn’t go well. I have a little issue with stitches being removed, but will be remedied soon, and look forward to Dr Aspostle doing surgery on my other foot in the very near future. In closing I found Dr Apostle to be professional, find, knowledgeable and very pleasant.
I would highly recommend her to family and friends.

At my initial consult with my physio and Dr. Apostle, the Dr. spent a half hour, with my physio and myself, discussing the best approach for my issues, even though she had 20 more consultations that day. This person does more in one day than I do in a month. She must work 80-hour weeks. Additionally, she is a clinical prof at UBC. She gives back to the community by training new doctors. Also, she will come to the phone to answer your questions if you call her office! Or you can book a phone appointment, which will happen within a week. Have your questions and concerns written down, out of respect for her busy schedule. She is not going to chit-chat.
I am happy with the successful surgeries that Dr. Apostle performed for me. I had discomfort for only 3 days afterward and had an excellent outcome. Her large surgery team is reassuring and kind, and thoroughly explains the procedures and answers all questions.
And the doctor explained the approach in an easy to understand context.
If you are looking for a doctor to hold your hand and coddle you, go elsewhere. She is too busy helping other people, to spend time being soothing and sociable. What counts is the quality of her healing, not the type of bedside manner she has. Yes, I would call Dr. Apostle a healer, and as such she is a bit idiosyncratic. It comes wth the whole package: if you want a conventional medical experience with a doctor who isn't quirky, Dr Kelly Apostle isn't the doctor for you. If you accept professionals who are a bit idiosyncratic, you won't be sorry if you choose Dr. Apostle.

Got the contact from another orthopaedic surgeon who was diagnosing my Rotator cuff. When I went for appointment Dr. Apostle was very punctual and on time. I expressed my desire for a definitive diagnosis and recommended treatment. She was very succinct. I needed fusion of the articular bones of the foot and the other options which I inquired about did not offer the solution. She was very clear on the procedure and outcome. I was convinced. The wait time for surgery is now about 6 months so I have been given some information for preparing to handle the post surgical recovery period. Both Dr. Apostle and Desire were very helpful in answering my questions.

My appointment was at 11:45 and I didn’t get in to see the doctor until 1:20. If she was running that behind, it would’ve been courteous to advise the patients so we could’ve gone in an an hour and a half later instead of just sitting there. Then to top it off, the resident doctor took out the stitches, had to place a bandage over where the incision was because it started bleeding, so Dr. Apostle didn’t even see that area but says everything looks good, you’re good to go. That was my 5 minute appointment. Dr. Apostle needs better communication skills. She’s very curt and non-empathetic. She basically is running away to her next client as you’re still asking questions. I don’t know why my family doctor referred me to her. It was a horrible experience overall.
