Maren was a midwife for my daughter with her second pregnancy , she was THE BEST! , I wholeheartedly would , without hesitation recommend her as a midwife. She was so gentle and knowledgeable and not once did she try to influence my daughter in any decisions. She gave us the information about every option and let us make all decisions. I wish with all my heart that I would have been able to have a midwife during my pregnancies. Maren you guided us all through one of the very best times of our lives and you did a FANTASTIC job , My daughter plans on having more children and Maren if available will definately be our first choice . Way to go Maren and all midwives in Manitoba

Maren is a "med-wife"; she is definitely not holistic in practice. She became quite eager to transfer care to an OB-GYN for breech much too prematurely in our very healthy pregnancy. Her language was alarmist, and she didn't seem to care if that was stressful. She really focussed on any minute negative aspects that came up. She was very unsupportive in our choice to have an undisturbed birth. I actually needed to manage the stress she caused me; without her, I would have had a joyful, easy pregnancy. She acted very uncomfortable and unfriendly with us if we didn't agree with absolutely everything she said. She used fetal outcome to try and coerce me into choices that were more convenient for her and her colleagues than safe for me or my baby. Also, she is NOT a feminist, and does not seem to respect the concept of "my body, my choice." Unless you want to strictly adhere to the medical model of pregnancy and childbirth, I would not recommend her at all.
