Okay, so Dr. Promes has her own practice as of 6/1/10. The prior offices she was at were NOT her staff members as she was merely another doctor on staff. Yes, when she was with Barimo and Schwartz the office and medical staff were horrific! However, I have been to her twice now in the past two weeks and am no longer stressed when entering the office. I can understand what some of the others have stated about her coming across as argumentative but after telling me bluntly telling her she has no personality, she stopped, thought for a moment and laughed. Dr. Promes told me, "Honey, most doctors don't." Since that time, I have NEVER had another time where I felt rushed. She takes the time to ask me how I am and "listens." So, for those of you who did not like the prior offices she was in, I encourage you to give it another try. Just so you know, she was miserable at those other places as well but it costs money to start one's own practice and she has finally been able to do just that.

My husband and my mother and I are all patients of Dr. Promes and we LOVE her! She is very caring and you can tell she really cares about her patients and she RETURNS PHONE CALLS personally! She is also very knowledgeable and because I am somewhat of a hypochondriac, she allays my fears and I feel so much better after I see her. She is great! I read some other reviews about the staff when she was with Dr. Schwartz and I found those to be true, but she is in her own office now and I like the staff VERY MUCH, especially Debbie. Thank you, Dr. Promes!

This doctor was a godsend to me and finally diagnosed me with Hashimoto's when other doctors ignored my symptoms and told me it was all in my head. She is very caring and always took her time with me. That being said, I did have to switch doctors because her staff in the rudest and most incompetent I have ever seen. Test results, msgs to doctor, appts were always screwed up. I have told her about her staff over the years I have been with her and she just doesn't listen. I now go to a new doctor, but only because of the office staff that she shares with Dr. Schwartz.

Dr. Promes is caring, but the staff at this office is beyond rude. My first visit I witnessed a front office staff member telling an elderly couple to go somewhere else. When I needed a referral to a cardiologist, the staff never sent it! I even called the day before my appointment to check and they acted as though I was being a pain. If this continues I will be forced to find another doctor.

I was one of those people who left a positive review a few months ago.I have since completely changed my mind as.I had to chase my own results down on more than once occasion.I also noticed Dr. Promes became argumentative with me & had attitude.At one point I had left a message for her to call me so I could discuss my results & she had the gall to tell me that because I had failed to make a follow up appt (which I had!) she was not going to be held responsible for me. I calmly explained that I did have a f/up appt and she may as well have told me I was lying. That according to her staff I didn't and there was nothing she could do for me.I then asked her who it was I was seeing on the 18th...thats when she said that she didn't have my results so there was nothing to discuss!???I couldn't believe it.Oh & when I made the appt for the 18th I made sure that it was the first appt of her day yet she was 45 min late!I will not be returning.

I have been her patient for many years, but she has recently switched practices, and I don't know which had worse customer service. Dr. Promes needs to open her own practice and leave these rude people behind. Please start your own practice! The front desk of her new practice is rude and abusive.

This is a very caring doctor, but the fact that her staff is so horrible makes it just impossible to continue to visit her. I do not understand how an intelligent person would hire such incompetent, rude people to work for her. They do not know what they are doing and had me wait for an hour only to then tell me my appointment was for the following day she had already left for the day! Do not go to this doctor as her staff will mess everything up from appointments to paperwork to billing. It is not worth the headache the awful staff brings. Dr Promes-hire some good people, fire your staff!

Dr. Promes was my doctor for 5 years-- I had the same problems, which she misdiagnosed repeatedly, and the pain got so bad that I finally got up the nerve to switch doctors. At my FIRST visit to my new doctor, I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. It could have been caught earlier if Dr. Promes was on the ball. Watch out.

A very high opinion of herself. I agree with the other rating - too rushed.. No time to listen to questions, except to argue. The other ratings on this page can't possibly be talking about the same Dr. Promes I know. The staff, while usually friendly & polite, are unorganized and inefficient. I've had several billing errors (insurance billed wrong) and it's nearly impossible to get a message to the doctor through their phone system.

My first time seeing Dr. Promes. Excellent experience. She is very kind and spends time reviewing your questions and concerns. Didn't feel rushed at all. I didn't know who to use as a PCP but after reading the previous reviews I decided to give it a shot and I am very happy that I did.
