I was diagnosed by 7 specialists in Vancouver with a rare auto immune disorder, behcet’s syndrome, along with chronic fatigue syndrome and arthritis and was prescribed steroids, dilaudid, morphine, percocet, as well as colchicine. This gave me a little bit of life for a week or so every few months, but also a warning that eventually I would not have a lining in my stomach from taking this. It also bothered me that the medication wasn’t getting to the root of the matter. I was told by Canadian medical doctors that it was a genetic disease and that I would just have to live with it. I refused to believe that my life had to stay that way. When I moved back to Prince Albert I was concerned if there would be anyone to help me figure out how I could live my life pain free along with some more energy to do those day to day things that I used to take for granted. The German medical doctors that a family member contacted said they treat those symptoms as emotional disorders, but I was unable to move to Germany to partake in treatments. I visited the Royal University Hospital on a regular basis to see specialists but there was never anything from them in regard to any new treatments to help me improve my health and so I found myself in a holding pattern. I continued with other alternative therapies but things were seemingly getting worse with my health, with severe environmental sensitivities developing. I had tried many therapies and I even flew to Toronto to see a specialist about a campath medical treatment, but he refused to give it to me because majority of his patients had died from it by eventually contracting cancer. My GP, Dr. Hookenson had suggested I make an appointment with Dr. Lucy Ormerod, and Dr. Ormerod then put me in touch with Dr. Nortman. I had lived with this condition for over 15 years and I now live free of the pain that the syndrome used to cause thanks to Dr. Nortman and the homeopathy. It has taken time to come to this point, and I continue to see Dr. Nortman every 5 months as I would have with my specialist as I am still working out a few more things, but I have great comfort knowing that he is there if I or anyone in my family need him for any problem.
