DO NOT GO TO Dr. Jacques Kawerk at any cost. He is extremely racist, discriminating, and lacks patience. I went to him for 2 appointments today: one for myself and one for my grandmother. Here are the horrible things that happened to us:

I took my grandmother who has osteoarthritis to him today and during her physical exam, he forcefully dragged her to the bottom of the examination bed and bent her knees where she has arthritis. My grandmother was screaming in pain because of him bending her knees forcefully. We were the last patients today and he said "why are the last patients always complex". He kept complaining about my grandmother and told me that being old is extremely annoying. I responded saying that everyone gets old and gave him a very disapproving look. He then responded saying "I would kill myself if I get old like this".

Right before the exam, my grandmother had to use the washroom to urinate so she asked to use the washroom quickly and he said "AH COME ON" and rolled his eyes. I then suggested that he give her a few minutes so that she could use the washroom and he was extremely frustrated and began yelling. I then suggested that he move onto my appointment so that we could save time. First of all, as a professional, he should have better handled the situation and came with a solution himself (although having to urinate before an exam is not a problem and merely a natural function of the body which he should have understood as a doctor). Second of all, as a patient, it was not my responsibility to diffuse the situation and his anger issues -he should have done that on his own as a medical professional.

During my medical consultation with him, he asked me if I was going through any major stressful events in my life and I told him that I have major exams that I had which I was quite stressed about. Dr. Kawerk then asked me with a grin on his fae "what happens to people who don't succeed on their exam?" I was very appalled, but I wasn't going to let a racist, ill-mannered, pest of a doctor get to me; I responded saying that there are so many options and that you could try again. He then said "but what if you don't succeed?" Understanding that he was chauvinist who probably could not bare to see coloured woman's accomplishments and success, I said "if there is a will; there is a way" to which he awkwardly gave me a fake smile. To be honest, if a loser like him could be a medical practitioner in Quebec, then anyone in this world could become any type of professional in this world (whether it be a doctor, lawyer, accountant, engineer, professor, prime minister, etc).

Later, after we went back and finished my grandmother's exam, he gave me a sample to give to the nurse so that it could be sent to the lab. Prior to the exam neither the nurse, nor Dr. Kawerk informed us of a $45 transportation fee that we would have to pay to have to sample sent to the hospital. When I told the nurse that she or Dr. Kawerk did not inform me of the fees, she said that every clinic charges it without being apologetic for an error/omission on their part.

He is by far one of the worst doctor and human being that I have come across. There are details that I cannot share in this review due to confidentiality reasons; however, I will see to it that this Doctor's license is under disciplinary review. If needed, I will pursue legal recourses to recover from his infringement of mine and my grandmother's access to health care through his racist, bullying, and violating approach to gynaecology.

Do not go to him unless you want to feel violated and abused.

Terrible Gynaecologist, I had the worst experience with him. He was impatient and showing that he was not happy to be doing my examination very clearly by making faces and comments about me to my face. He was also very aggressive throughout the appointment, I felt really uncomfortable. I never ever want to go back to him! I have never felt so disrespected! He was mocking me as well.

I have never had a better experience with a doctor. For the first time, I feel like my concerns were heard, validated, and actually dealt with. A genuinely kind, funny and caring man. Clearly someone who has chosen the correct career path.

Dr Kawerk is honestly one of the best doctors I’ve ever had. I have nothing but good things to say. A little intimidating at first but once you get to know him, he is truly the sweetest and he is SO funny. He is my practicing OB and I was lucky enough to have him deliver my second baby and I could not have asked for a better experience. 10/10 the very best!

Dr Kawerk was simply amazing. I am a mother that initially didn’t want a male gyne and i was terrified of the gyne. Dr Kawerk changed that for me!!! He was HILARIOUS and made me laugh so much. I felt so safe with him and going to the gyne felt like something fun instead of stressful. I cannot thank him enough! Love him and definitely recommend him!
