I have had several root canals by Dr. Putnam. I’ve had excellent experiences each time. The staff is kind and professional. They always got me in on short notice. Dr. Putnam goes out of his way to make you comfortable both physically and emotionally. While nobody enjoys seeing the dentist, he goes out of his way to explain everything that he is going to do. I would highly recommend Dr Putnam!

I've gone back and forth about sharing this, because it's honestly not my nature to be vengeful. However, it is my nature to be honest.

My friend, made a post on Twitter (X) whatever that platform is about the need to warn others of bad medical providers, so here it goes.

The Endodontist, Dr. Jason Putnam, in Bluffton, SC who did my root canal was awful. He yelled at me, he yelled at his assistants, and he gave me nothing for pain after my procedure. I'll explain.

When he gave me the first numbing shot, he told me straight up that it was going to hurt badly, but not to move. I didn't. Tears came out of my eyes, but I was still. Then, he came back after a while to give me another shot, but didn't tell me what he was going to do. I thought he was poking me with something to see if it was numb yet and my head moved as a reflex to the pain. He then yelled at me that I could have caused him to stick himself with the needle.

He ignored that I was having trouble swallowing and feeling like I was drowning and kept demanding that I had the ability to swallow. My mouth was propped open and had a drape over it. The poor assistant kept trying to do suction so I could be more comfortable (after he told me to raise my arm if I needed help), but he would yell at her. That along with being quite demanding of her in a hateful tone, all while I am sitting there getting a root canaI, completely aware of what's going on.

I mean, no trip for dental work is fun, but that was by far the worst experience I have ever had. So bad in fact that I felt the need to apologize if I had been a bad patient. The assistant looked defeated as I left the room. At least I will never have to go back. Also want to add that it is my friends who also work in the dental community that have requested I post this review to every site possible.

I highly recommend Dr. Putnam and his very caring and professional staff. I have been to this office several times and wouldn’t go anywhere else when I need an Endodontist. I was especially pleased with the result of a complex surgery that saved the tooth on my bridge. It was a relief I didn’t have to replace my bridge thanks to Dr. Putnam’s expertise. Way to go Dr. Putnam!

I visited Dr. Putnam and had a Root Canal done. They were very courtesy and professional. They made the experience very comfortable. I would recommend Dr Putnam to anyone that needs the services of an Endodontist. Thank you!

Do you want to see a dentist who is personable, experienced, empathetic and believes in backing up his work? Then Dr. Putnam is your man! His assistant Jennifer is excellent and she makes sure you know what's going on during your procedure! All of his staff will make sure you're comfortable and well taken care of. My experience has renewed my faith in dentist!

I feel that it is outrageous to be charged $150 for what they call a consultation. Thee Doctor came in and introduced himself and said he was glad to meet me
He asked me what needed to be done. I told him that I needed my root canal to be finished. He asked if I had any questions to which I responded no. He then said he will get me numbed and then he would start. This is NOT a consultation this is just common courtesy. How he can justify charging me $2.00 per second is outrages. While he was working on my teeth I had an aweful taste in my mouth which proceeded down my throat. He said some antibotic leaked into my mouth. My mouth was rinsed out to remove the taste but for 6 hours my throated was irritated.

I had an excellent experience with Dr Putnam and the staff. They were all very helpful and considerate. Always asking if I was ok. I went twice and both times I had the same treatment. If I had to I would go back again. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who asks. Thanks to all there. Especially to you Dr Putnam.

Three times Dr. Putnam hit a sensitive spot and I jumped, my reflexes automatically causing my hands to go up. In response I was fussed at for moving in the chair. Had to sit on my hands. At the end he told me it was rare that his patients felt pain and expressed that maybe I was getting pressure confused with pain.
I was referred to Dr. Putnam by my general dentist and was excited to be able to get an appointment in just 4 days. Unknowing, this was just a consultation visit at a cost of $150 where the same information/discussion and x-ray was repeated from my visit to my general dentist. Ten day later the procedure was performed.
I was told I needed to provide a SS# for the insurance. I checked with my insurance company and this was not true. The insurance card I provided was all they needed.
