Dr. Wallace saved my life! He was able to diagnose me with Lupus when no other doctors had a clue what was wrong with me. I am so lucky to have found him. He is a genius ;-)

I suffer from a very disabling Auto Immune condition. The current treatments are toxic. I found out on Clinicaltrial.com that Dr. Wallace was doing phase three studies of a non toxic treatment.i contacted the office by phone and email repeatedly and for over two weeks no one got back to me. They never answer the phone, merely leave you to a phone tree of names. WHen I finally got through to someone she said she could not do anything because Dr. Wallace was out of town, the time he was gone was extended for weeks. Finally this person who was supposedly the research intake person, Erin Avila, who had refused to be forthcoming or helpful in anyway, when pressed told me to send her my "medical records". No matter how many times i asked ,she would not tell me which and what kind of medical records, including what. I sent her all my rhumatology doctors records for the past year including chart notes and clinical docs. I tracked it and it had arrived at the office. However Ms. Avila, obviously did not want to do her job and denied receiving them, even though she had. My most recent records and all the clinical docs were then send via email. She said she had those but it was not enough. By six weeks had passed. I asked again in writing for the sixth time, DO you want only my Rhumatologist and how far back, Erin refused to answer clearly again, saying only "we want all your medical records: I asked .. for what period. She still would not answer me. Instead the same day, I ot the brush off, a nasty email from her that they were refusing to see me because i was not desparate and sick enough to put up with the endless mistreatment, lack of honesty and candor, that they clearly dish out to all their patients. This kind of discrimination and abuse is not uncommon when doctors have all the power over very sick people who have no options and no good treatments . And to abuse ones power, over people who are sick and have no options is as low down and dirty as it gets. I intend to report them to the drug company that is making the drug and to the Medical board. These people are heartless and rotten. Erin Avila, the nasty rude office manager, are both not fit to serve the public, they are so nasty. As far as Dr. Wallace is concerned, i was told by the office manager that this is his policy and he said to do it all. If so, he has no heart, he is not a healer, rather just another bad egg in the field.

I am not a patient of Dr.Wallace but have recently been diagnosed with lupus after experiencing the symptoms for decades. Having the random symptoms of lupus treated without addressing the root cause has impacted my life. Taking plaquenil has enriched the quality of my life and so has Dr. Wallace's book, The Lupus Book, which serves as a perfect reference source for those with lupus who want to avoid some of the pitfalls. For instance after experiencing the side effects and avoiding sulpha meds & some foods the book revealed that they can cause problems for those with lupus. I'm very grateful to Dr.Wallace.

I have been seeing Dr. Wallace for over 15 years. He may not spend too much time with you but, he has so much knowledge and experience and he is so busy with patients that are on the their last leg, per say..that he doesn't waist time with small talk. He has tried so many drugs until he gets me to where I can function. He was the only one that could diagnose me with Stills Disease that many doctors haven't a clue. If it wasn't for him and his extremely understanding and helpful staff I would be dead 10 years ago. He is my angel.

Dr. Wallace first saved my life in the early 1990s when he diagnosed my Fibromyalgia. Today he diagnosed another illness for me, and prescribed medicine to relieve the symptoms. He is a VERY good diagnostician. He does his exam quickly and explains his conclusions thoroughly, then supplies a solution. I will always be grateful for the care I have received from him!

I have been seeing Dr. Wallace for years. After years of going to other physicians of all types, and beginning to wonder if my symptoms were 'all in my head,' Dr. Wallace was ultimately able to diagnose me with Raynaud's and Lupus with Sclerodermal overlap. His office runs like a well-oiled machine. I've never waited longer than 5 minutes in the waiting room, and once in an examination room, I've not waited longer than 5 minutes to see Dr. Wallace. I have found him to be extremely kind and concerned, and he's always answered my questions. He can be brief at times (due to how busy he is I'm sure) but if I assert myself (as a patient should) he will slow down and answer any question. His office manager, Jody is professional and an angel- they broke the mold when they made her. As for the rest of his staff, they treat me with kindness and dignity. Getting them on the phone can be tough- they prefer email, which they always answer quickly and thoroughly. Dr. Wallace gets an A+.

I found Dr. Wallace to be very unhelpful. His examination of me and evaluation of my medical history was poor. He was also very abrupt in his bedside manner. I choose not to see him again.

At first greeting, he squeezed my hand too hard. He doesn't listen to what you have to say, no matter how many times you see him. You can tell him you had a seizure last week and he'll give you a medication that causes seizures. Seriously, he doesn't listen. He's capable of reading, so if you do have something to say, put it down in writing and hand it to him. He misinforms about side effects. He's reaffirmed my belief in relying on the medical field for any help. I won't say he's a bad doctor, but he's definitely mediocre at best. I recommend that you take the time to make decisions about medications before you commit. Best of luck!

Does not dedicate enough time to patients and doesn't listen to what the patient has to say. Very unconcerned and indifferent. It was a great disappointment.

Went in to verify a lupus diagnosis since he wrote the Lupus book and is supposed to be an expert. At the first visit I tried to explain my symptoms which he apparently had no time to listen too, instead ordered a shot (without even discussing what shot it was) and walked out of the room. I thought he would be right back since he had spent less then 3 minutes examining me but he was gone. I endured the shot and figured I would avoid scheduling an appointment right before lunch in the future. But at the follow up appointment I got the same treatment- less than 5 minutes with him and he asked me questions that I had already answered IF he had only been listening. The voicemail system in place must be to avoid answering patients calls. 2 days later I have not received a phone call about the medical records I am requesting to show to my new doctor. Furthermore, I sent Dr. Walllace an email and he did not even take the time to answer a simple question. Worst experience ever!
