I was referred to Dr. Fox (InterMountain HealthCare MD Employee) for lumbar fusion spine surgery. I waited 90 mins for the first appointment. Scheduling of my surgery took 6 calls & 3 weeks; most of my calls were not returned. Abnormal pre-op lab results were not communicated to me for 9 days. Less than 24hrs before surgery I was notified that surgery needed to be cancelled because of lab results. I received no pre-op instructions or teaching regarding what meds to take pre-op, what to expect post-op & during recovery period, what the risks and failure rates were. I received NO written information about the diagnosis or surgery or rehabilitation. After viewing my MRIs, Xrays Dr. Fox changed the type of surgery he planned to perform 3 times. Dr. Fox's team does not communicate effectively with each other nor with his patients. The priority of Dr. Fox's services did not seem to be patient-focused, seamless care.
