Biography

I received my undergraduate from the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico and graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Biology, cum laude and Dean's list. I earned my medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico and have been in practice with Ob Gyn Care Associates of St. Luke's since June 2015. I was the Chief Resident from 2012-2013 for the Ob-Gyn department at St. Luke's University. I am board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. I am a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists since 2008 as well as a member with the American Medical Association and the Puerto Rico Medical Association. I have been involved in research activities that include working as part of a group in the Neuroscience department with the University of Puerto Rico where we explored the role of Glutamate's metabotropic receptors in the establishment of emotional memory and also worked in ongoing research, investigating the effect of free radicals produced by different chemotherapy regimens on the survival of mice infected with tumor cells with the University of Kentucky- summer research fellowship. My gynecological interests are with minimally invasive surgery as well as office procedures. I have a special interest in obstetrics, specifically high risk obstetrics. I am proficient in Spanish and in my spare time I enjoy traveling, photography, singing, coloring, listening to music, Zumba, party planning and spending time with family and friends and living by my personal vision, "Only a life serving others is worth living".
