Agree with other comments regarding abrupt and disinterested attitude. No info forthcoming regarding test results and I was given no opportunity to ask questions. Staff runs the gamut from very helpful to rude.

Epstein is the worst doctor. Maybe it's time for him to retire. At some point in time instruments should be taken out of this mans hands.

While checking reviews for various doctors, decided to add a comment about Dr. Epstein. He performed a very painful colonoscopy on me in March 2009 and I experienced complications for the next few days. It was probably for the best that the procedure was done on a Friday, because the covering doctor on Saturday (not Epstein) was wonderful and helpful and my problem was resolved. I have had many, many colonoscopies due to a history of polyps and have never had any pain or problems prior to this experience. Additionally, I totally agree with all the negative comments by other reviewers regarding his abrupt, rude, disinterested, non-communicative manner. (He's a little guy, maybe that's his problem.....) I will never use this doctor again and certainly don't recommend him to anyone - for anything.

Had a colonoscopy with follow-up blood testing. Found information flow to be very poor, requiring me to think to ask about everything. Assistants keep forgetting to call me, to update the records he sees, etc. And he doesn't like Medicare.

Aside from displaying no interest in his patients, he is unpleasant to deal with and can be quite abrupt and rude. Seemed irritated by questions. Still unsure what my diagnosis is. Will NOT be going back!

I had a lump in my stomach that he reassured me was a fatty tumor and not to worry about it. After many complaints of my nausea and 8 years later, he then decided that it should be taken out. He performed a Resection of Gastric Leomyama and rebuilding my esophogus which has never been the same since. I still can't eat certain foods, and the acid reflux is unbearable. Also, when I moved he refused to give me my records. Make you wonder why that is?

He was rushed and rough resulting in a very painful experience. Lousy bedside manner, lacking empathy and communication skills. Did not discuss medications or the procedure with the patient. Do not recommend.

Dr. Epstein appeared disinterested in me as a person, was very brief in his examination, and provided a final report in a seemingly rushed one sentence note which had misspellings and which provided no remedies or suggestions. It described a few conditions that might be ruled out, but nothing about what might be ruled in. Extremely unhelpful. I know no more about my condition than when I started. I am upset and will take my records to someone else for interpretation.

Dr. Epstein was far too blase and unfortunately he misdiagnosed me and my cancer is now very progressed. I don't know if it was because of my insurance but he didn't physically examine me to rule out cancer and told me not to worry. So, now I have cancer and five minutes of a bimanual exam would have detected this then. I like other docs in his office so not going to sue him but he should take a lesson from this. If you can detect cancer then and there in the office why not do it? Too rushed of an appointment--I was in there with him for less than five minutes and he was utterly bored. Looks like the office runs on volume and not individual patient care. Really stinks for individuals like me.
