Dr. Moise spent nearly 90 minutes for my initial visit. He listened to my concerns and took the time to answer all my questions. He was honest about what to expect during and after surgery, what benefits there were, the risks, and what recovery would be like. My surgery was 3 weeks ago and everything progressed exactly as he described. The surgery was a total success. I wish I had met him years ago and not lived with the pain for so long. I would unequivocally recommend him. His calm and positive manner reduced the stress of this life changing decision.

I was in moderate to severe pain, due to “pinched nerves” for 6+ years. I did not want to have back surgery. I couldn’t stand for more than a minute or walk more than 100 ft. To make matters worse, I couldn’t sit for more than an hour. After exhausting all other options, (chiropractic, physical therapy, pain killers, steroid injections, tens unit, various back support devices), I finally decided to talk with a neurosurgeon. Dr. Moise was highly recommended to me by my neurologist.
My first meeting with him was impressive. He clearly researched my case. He is very easy to talk to and listens to what you are saying. He made it clear that surgery is a last resort to fix the problem. He explained exactly what needed to be done to take the pressure off of the “pinched nerves”. He didn’t make any promises for the outcome and explained all of the dangers of going through surgery. I had this condition for so long that the neuropathy in my feet was so severe that I couldn’t feel my feet touch the foot board of my bed. There was a good chance that I had permanent nerve damage. His recommendation was TLIF surgery. After the surgery I couldn’t bend, lift or twist for 3 months.
I did get a second opinion. The second opinion option sounded much better. They were simply going to chip away at the spinal bone to relieve the pressure. Recovery time was one month. When I talked with Dr. Moise about this, he explained that the other option would work but it was a temporary fix because my spine would continue to push forward and then I would be back for another surgery. He showed me, in layman terms, exactly why his option was a more permanent solution.
He had me go through lots of testing before he would proceed. I had to be cleared by my cardiologist and general practitioner before he would perform the operation. I was assigned to a nurse, Lindsay, to coordinate all of this activity. It’s one thing to have a great surgeon, it’s another thing to have a great support staff working with him. I’ve never experienced such a well-coordinated medical effort. I communicated with Lindsay mostly via email. Her response time was super-fast. Every question was answered promptly. The day before surgery, I was given a presentation by another staff member that visually walked me from the front door of the hospital to the operating room.
After the surgery, the PA’s visited me. They knew everything about me and got me through the post operative phase quickly and professionally. During my recovery at home, Lindsay was in constant communication with me and my family adjusting medications and movement activities. She stayed with me through the entire process. It was like having a private nurse by your side.
The bottom line is that 7 months later I’m on vacation in the Caribbean swimming, walking and driving pain free. I never expected to be able to walk, as far as I want, without pain every again. It is totally a new lease on life. Dr. Moise is a brilliant surgeon and has a support staff that is amazing.

I am currently being treated by Dr Moise, and I am very happy with the level of care I received. I had extensive x-rays, and 2 MRI's. When Dr Moise was performing my surgery. He found what was causing my intense pain. I am very thankful to Dr Moise, thankful to his assistant for getting me a fast surgical date. I am thankful to the Physician Assistants that were at the hospital. I had very kind nurses at Valley Hospital. The level of care, knowledge, expertise and professionalism given by Dr Moise, and his office was outstanding! I will be giving his info to those dear to me that need a great Neurosurgeon.

He didn't even do a complete neurological exam on me. Brushed me off and told me my problems were nothing. Didn't even talk to me for 5 minutes... 11 hour corrective brain surgery later by a competent surgeon who knew what he was doing and I feel great. DO NOT GO TO HIM.

I am currently being treated by Dr. Moise for the first time. My overall experience has been great! I went into the consultation feeling very anxious and nervous but he emmediately put me at ease. He was extremely patient and listened carefully to all of my concerns. He explained my condition to me very thoroughly and in a manner in which I understood completely. He didn't rush me out of the office like a lot of other doctor's do. He has a very calming manner about him and I feel very confident in his treatment plan for me. The office staff was wonderful, very professional, I was pleasantly surprised with the level of care that I received from them. I highly recommend Dr. Moise and am thankful for his service!

Dr. Moise treated my mother for hydrocephalus. The initial operation proved inconclusive and in fact injured my mother and set my mother back. Dr. Moise and his practice didn't help with any follow up. Since then we have found another neurosurgeon who used a different approach, followed up, and successfully treated the hydrocephalus. Look elsewhere.
