Biography
Additional Training: Rubin Institute for Advance Orthopaedics, International Center for Limb Lengthening. Baltimore, Maryland Dr. Kelly Poncheri graduated Summa Cum Laude from King’s College in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She was named Academic as well as Athletic All American while studying at King’s, for her accomplishments in field hockey. Dr. Poncheri completed her medical school education at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed research under the direction of Dr. Jinsup Song, DPM, Ph.D, at the Gait Study Center, while at TUSPM. Dr. Poncheri was accepted into the Podiatric Surgical Residency program at Community Medical Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She trained with Dr. Guido LaPorta, nationally recognized leader and pioneer of podiatric foot, ankle, and reconstructive surgical procedures. Dr. Poncheri served as Chief Resident while at CMC. She had extensive training in all aspects of podiatric surgery including foot, ankle and lower leg conditions in children and adults. She also had intensive training in various forms of circular external fixator use for trauma, deformity, correction, and ankle distraction treatment. Dr. Poncheri had advanced training at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopaedics, at the International Center for Limb Lengthening (ICLL), in Baltimore, Maryland. She trained under the tutelage of Dr. Bradley Lamm, DPM and nationally recognized pediatric and adult orthopaedic surgeons in care focused on congenital, developmental, and post traumatic limb deformities, limb length discrepancies, and skeletal abnormalities. She trained in the Ponseti method of clubfoot treatment while at ICLL. Dr. Poncheri specializes in the treatment of foot, ankle, and lower leg conditions in pediatric and adult patients. She treats diabetic foot deformities, athletic injuries, bunions, hammertoes, foot and ankle arthritis, ankle disorders, flatfoot, neuropathy, and various other podiatric ailments. She believes to obtain the best outcome, that every patient should be treated with the utmost kindness and respect. Patients at the Foot and Ankle Institute of Central Florida are treated like family. Dr. Poncheri enjoys running, music, and spending time with friends and family in her spare time.

Dr. Poncheri and her assistant are awesome. Extremely thorough and honest and polite each and every time. Dr. Poncheri is definitely not just about making money by suggesting unecessary surgeries but thorough about treatment and options outside of surgery.
