Dr. Steichen,
Thank you for your help to our family some 25 years ago (at SBCH in CA).
Your thorough knowledge of my wife's glioblastoma helped us have to the confidence to face her several surgeries. While at the same time, your heart of kindness and compassion helped us face Jenny's 2 year struggle with the disease.
You're an excellent surgeon, AND a very kind man. Made all the difference when we were facing a huge challenge for our young (at the time) family.
I often give praises to God for your help to our family.
Thank you for investing your compassion in our family.
Jeff

If it were possible to leave more than five stars for Dr Steichen and Dr. Uberman and Diane and the staff at Roper Saint Francis Hospital, I would leave more than five stars. Dr Steichen performed cervical disc Peterson surgery on me two weeks ago today. I am amazed at the entire experience and what a great and beautiful job that he did. This is such a good team. I was very nervous about the procedure. If you were looking for a neurosurgeon to have complete confidence in, Dr Steichen is your man.

I had a brain tumor-I was very scared. Dr. Steichen's calm demeanor and knowledge as he explained my situation was wonderful. He operated and saved my life. ---SMP

Had a visit, late for appointment, saw a PA for about 15 min. Waited again for DR to show about another 15 min. Steichen stated that MRI showed age related deterioration. I already knew I have deterioration at L3, L4, L5, a herniated disc at L3, scoliosis and a bone spears. Steichen seemed to be in a hurry, only spent about 10 minutes and sent me to Dr Keefer for physical therapy. Felt like Steichen was giving me the bums rush, couldn't get me out of office soon enough. My question is how bad does back pain have to get before something is done?

He seemed caring on first visit. Told me no PT and NO chiropratic. 2nd visit he wants to send me to Dr Keffer. ...who promotes rigorous PT. I've got canal stenosis and bulging discs. Dr Steichen said "Try not to fall and don't get shoved" at my first visit. Now he shuffles me over to a neurologist who specializes in PT. I'm getting a different doctor.

I had a decompression/fusion surgery done by Dr. Steichen and had very little pain and a quick recovery. It has been 7 weeks since my surgery and I feel GREAT and am starting rehab this week. I had four friends who have had the same surgery and all had to have a second back surgery with poor results. I would highly recommend Dr. Steichen.

I went to see Dr.Stricken approx 2 yrs ago. I had 3 nerve blocks prior to my first visit. I was and still am in severe pain. I had to leave work this week because I could not put wt bearing on my right leg without screaming out loud. This is so embarrassing. I went to the ER. Test revealed lumbar radiculopathy sciatica. It was at least a 10 pain scale. I am going to have to quit work because I am going to have to go to a walker.I have been in bed now for 3 days because I can't walk. And he would not do anything for me and my MRI revealed I had a serious problem. I think he just did not want to deal with such a extensive problem. But I was treated like dirt. Gave me results over the phone and did not even get a follow up. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I am Police officer who was seriously injured twice in the line of duty. Dr Steichen performed both surgeries and I am blessed by his God given talents. He may be in a rush and can't listen to every persons life story, but he gets the job done right. I am grateful to have him in my life to keep me alive and able to do the most important job, (raise my 3 boys). He restored my ability to walk without assistance! Thank you Dr. John Steichen!
