I was a patient of Dr. Riesner from the late 90s to early 2000s and had a very similar experience to the other reviewers here. I must say, I am extremely happy with my results. My smile still looks great nearly 20 years later and my teeth have barely shifted. BUT - he did not conduct business honestly. He had my parents sign a contract which I believe would cover work for two years. This included my palate expander (which was the first step in the process) then braces. I think the total amount was about $5,000. At the end of the two years, I was on "per visit" at $75 each for almost three years! It was as if he was purposely doing sub par work to keep me paying as long as possible. My braces would often become loose or sometimes a bracket would fall off completely. His bedside manner was nonexistent. I once asked him to please stop and he said; "Oh come on - that doesn't hurt!" Whenever you would complain or ask him how much longer the process was going to take, he would gaslight you and make you feel stupid for asking. His receptionist at the time, Jennifer, was equally rude and deceitful. He really dragged it out then finally my parents and I had enough and called him out. From that point on, he did the right thing and after almost THREE years, I finally got my braces off. The whole process took almost five years. It's a shame because he is very knowledgeable in his profession but unfortunately, he is also a crook.

Unfortunately, I went through the same thing with my daughter as others. Kept the work going past contract, got paid in full, and still charged per visit then told us we had to find someone else. After 5 years with braces, found another ortho who had to remove the braces and start from scratch. Horrible. Too bad I didn't think to take him to court for the horrible, incomplete work he did.

He is an outright crook. No integrity or professional qualities at all. Had my parents sign contracts and intentionally kept the orthodontic work going past your contract expiration date so he can charge you per visit. This went on for years!!!! My brother had braces on for 8 years and finally had it and begged to get them off before his HS prom. I got mine off in 4 and they were straight, but still have an overbite. My parents should have sued. The emotional and financial toll this doctor took out on us is unconscionable!!!

He is truly the worst! A rip off. Left my daughter high and dry after 5 years of so called treatment. She had to go to prom and high school graduation with a mouth full of braces! I will definitely see this crook in court!

This doctor has no bedside manner at all. Even a corpse wouldn't want to deal with him. He is rude, does shoddy work and gets mad when you call him on his errors or ask general questions. Avoid him at all costs. Also, you should know his work comes undone and you are charged $150 or so for office visits after a certain time. A-V-O-I-D H-I-M!!!!!!
