I've sat with this for a bit now so that I can write an honest review of the appalling and shameful behavior of Dr. Shilpee during my last wellness visit - which will be my last visit with her, as she will no longer be my primary care physician. She took over years ago for my previous primary care physician who had retired - but I’ve never been particularly thrilled with her in general. She and the visit always seemed rushed, never seemed sincere and always felt overbooked.
Her first comment to me - “so did you get your booster?” I told her no and that I was in fact not vaccinated either. I then asked if she could write me a prescription for Ivermectin. This simple question triggered her like I’d never expected. Her immediate response (yelling this and very nasty) was “ABSOLUTELY NOT. I WOULD NEVER PRESCRIBE THIS TO MY PATIENTS AND THERE ARE NO STUDIES SHOWING THE EFFECTIVENESS IN TREATING COVID. IN FACT, THERE ARE SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS TO THIS DRUG” She then said “YOU’RE VERY MISINFORMED AND YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO DOCTORS”
I was shocked by her incredibly nasty comments and her tone. I politely replied to her that I’ve seen and read that people are treated successfully with Ivermectin. She cut me off again and said (nasty again) “ Really? WHAT DID YOU READ?! TELL ME.” Could not have been more condescending. Who speaks to their patients like this??
At one point she even said to me in a sarcastic tone..”oh, you’re an anti vaxxer” REALLY? Appalling and shameful!
As any narcissist would, she then out of nowhere, had to tell me how much she cares about her patients and that while her colleagues were not open during covid collecting government checks, she was open accepting appointments because of how much she cares. I’m sure it had NOTHING to do with continuing to collect insurance claim money and patient co pays. Right.
The final disgraceful act from her was as she was walking out of the room, her last comment to me was “don’t get covid…” - most disgusting, appalling, disrespectful doctor and doctor visit I’ve ever experienced in my life. I would never refer anyone to her and will make sure people are aware of how she speaks and talks to her patients. She should be ASHAMED. I left very upset and still am at the way I was treated.
