I am 54 year old woman, extremely active and in great physical shape until menopause hit. I was 30 pounds overweight in 3 years, tired and depressed. Dr. Kaye’s functional medicine practice was the best thing that ever happened to me. In just over a year with bio-identical hormone treatment and help from the in-house nutritionist, I've got my energy back, have lost the weight and now feel as good as I did in my 30's. My results were so good that my partner is now going to Dr. Kaye as well, with equally wonderful results. Functional medicine is about getting in front of problems before they happen, as opposed to the more mainstream method of responding with pills after a problem has taken hold. Plus imagine a doctor that actually takes time to talk to you and evaluate your issues, rather than just seeing you for 5 minutes! Some folks on here have mentioned the insurance - yes, you have to submit your own paperwork for reimbursement, and you need to do your due diligence with your own plan to make sure you will be covered for certain items. I personally have only ever had one issue, and in that case Dr. Kaye and his friendly office staff helped me to resolve it. The bottom line is - what is your well being worth? I cannot strongly enough recommend Dr. Kaye's practice to any woman or man who wants to take control of their health.

He didn't listen to me and overtalked me when I had questions or concerns. He was much more interested in diagnosising me with hormone issues than the reason I was there to see him. He dismissed my main concerns and focused on what he wanted to focus on, not my concerns and complaints. He charged $545 with no insurance coverage for 1 1/2 hour visit and ushered me out after 45 minutes. I will not be back, I have found a much better Doctor.

Dr. Joseph E. Kaye's response
I am very sorry you felt you did not receive the care you expected. Although 90 minutes may seem like a lot of time, it is really a short time to cover the vast number of issues many patients bring to me, discuss diet and lifestyle, and do a treatment plan. Sometimes the conversation has to be directed to what is critical to help make make a diagnosis. I always try to give patients as much time to speak as they wish, but given time constraints, inevitably some will feel they didn't have enough time. We are always willing to schedule additional time to cover things that were not dealt with in the first visit . Many of our patients successfully receive reimbursement from their insurers after they are seen in the office. We do make sure all patients are well aware beforehand that we are a fee for service practice. If you are truly dissatisfied with your care, please contact the office for a refund of your visit fees. Wishing you the best, Dr. Kaye

I think Dr. Kays is awesome. He does complete and thorough testing, reviews it in detail on every visit, and diligently tracks more vitals than any physician I have ever met. He always answers questions and is attentive to details. His practice is 80% education and 20% just do what he says and you will feel much better than you have in 20 years in six months. He got me to low levels of body fat, improved my cholesterol dramatically, and improved almost every measure of my blood work. All of the results shocked my last primary care physician when he revied the progress 12 months later….the primary thought supplementation was unnecessary and the food pyramid was a good diet prescription.

I have suffered with hypothyroidism, low testosterone, pre diabetes, chronic fatigue for years and years. Dr. Kay was the most thorough, considerate, thoughtful and kind doctor I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. yes, he costs some money, but he is worth it and you get what you pay for. Fortunately, my Blue Cross PPO reimburses me for his visits 80%. Thanks to him, my gluten sensitivity and food allergies were finally diagnoses, my irritable bowel is cured, and my chronic fatigue is gone. I am now eating a healthy Paleo diet he taught me and I have lost all my extra fat. I am almost 50 but I am told I look 35! My low T and thyroid are perfectly treated. Do yourself a big favor and put your trust in this doctor. Now that he has left BodyLogicMD and opened his own practice the lab costs will be much less since I can now just use my insurance for labs. How former franchise partner was awful and just charged lots of money for lab tests while poor doctor Kaye has always been a strong advocate for his patients and will now be much more so.

We have been in his care for at least 5 years for bio-identical hormones and he is a very careful and caring person who is extremely knowledgeable. Helped my husband lower his blood pressure. We have both lost our excess weight and are healthier than ever. People say I look 45 and I am 67. My done density issue has been completely cured.

Dr. Kaye is, hands down, my favorite doctor. He saved me 3 years ago when I felt like I was dying, and no other doctor I visited could help me. I had no idea what was wrong with me, and out of a slew of specialists and doctors of every kind, he was the only one that could crack the code and unlock the mystery of my hormone imbalance. I have been a happy patient of his ever since, and wouldn't trade him for the world. He always treats me with respect, kindness, and compassion. I enjoy a nice repoire with Dr. Kaye. He listens attentively to my questions & concerns and takes the time to address each one. I can honestly say he has restored my health and rejuvenated my zest for life. Bottom line - Dr. Kaye's skill, knowledge, and expertise is 2nd to none.

I have been seeing Dr. Kaye for just over a year and have found him to be helpful and knowledgeable about anti-aging treatments for men over 50. I first went to him because my regular MD wanted to put me on statins but did not authorize a complete cholesterol profile for me. Dr. Kaye ordered the profile. After reviewing the results, Dr. Kaye told me I didn't need statins. I showed the results to my regular MD, and he also agreed that I did not need to be on statins. Since Dr. Kaye specializes in anti-aging medicine, I expected to pay more for his services, but his staff has helped me with submitting insurance claims (my insurance covers most of his services). Dr. Kaye even helped me successfully resolve a billing dispute with BodyLogic. He has always answered my questions quickly whether they were by phone or in his office. In spite of one appointment mix-up, not sure if it was my fault or his staff's fault, everyone in his office has been friendly and efficient.

I went to Body Logic and Dr. Kaye for BHRT pellet therapy. I did a lot of research before I met with him. Before the first visit ($545) I filled out a 50 page questionnaire and had the lab work ($620) completed. After 5 minutes in his office it was clear he had not read either the questionnaire or lab results. He spent 45 min trying to sell me on the Paleo diet and 10 min on the hormone replacement. I returned the next day and had my first pellet install ($360). A month later I had lab work done again ($300). Two weeks later a 15 min follow up phone call ($150) and again he was not prepared and had not read the lab results. I was so turned off by his rudeness, arrogance and uncaring manner I have decided not to return. By far the most unpleasant doctor I have ever met. He has no compassion for women who are truly suffering with menopausal symptoms. I do not recommend, go elsewhere!

I have been a patient of Dr. Kaye for more than two years. I don't want my doctor to win a personality contest(although I've found Dr. Kaye to be genuine and caring), rather, I want him to help me with my health and longevity. Dr. Kaye has changed my physical health and is years ahead of conventional medicine practitioners. I can understand some of the negative comments here as Dr. Kaye is probably focused on the patients problem, rather than small talk. This causes him to appear curt or perhaps some would see him as rude. If you are seeking the best, most knowledgabe, and effective physician, see Dr. Kaye. If you are seeking someone who will entertain you and cater to your ignorance and give you needless Rx's, he is not right for you.

Dr. Kaye is polite and an amazing diagnostician. I asked him if he were Board certified, and was informed that he is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Anti-Aging Medicine. I give him my unqualified highest recommendation.
