My jury is still somewhat out on Dr. Woody. I have an as-yet undiagnosed skin condition. At my first visit, Dr. Woody prescribed steroids and sent me home without tests. I think her theory was that my response to the steroids would reveal the nature of my condition. This is not necessarily wise, because steroids can both mask and exacerbate some conditions, infections in particular (steroids compromise the immune system, making it hard for the body to fight infection). My understanding is it isn't unusual for doctors to prescribe steroids before testing, so Dr. Woody wasn't going out on a limb or anything. But others recommend running tests before settling on a course of steroids, to avoid the risks to the immune system, a course to which I'm partial. Beyond this issue though, Dr. Woody appears both intelligent and knowledgeable - She made some interesting suggestions about what the problem might be that I had not considered.

Dr. Woody is simply awesome. She is the best dermatologist I have ever seen in my entire life. I am convinced she's the best person to see in N.C. if you have skin issues. She is EXTREMELY helpful.

Dr. Woody is one of the best doctors in this field I have been to. She is knowledgeable, prompt, patient, and understanding. She is able to address cosmetic and medical concerns in a patient and caring manner. She was always willing to answer questions and gave you lots of time. Her office staff is helpful in scheduling appointments at any time. Definitely the best dermatoligist I have seen.
