You do wait a while in the waiting room, but he is worth the wait. He genuinely cares about his patients, and he spends a long time with you in the exam room. He is pretty dry, and people think he comes across rude. Its not a doctor's job to hold our hand and sugar coat our disease process; their job is to determine the best treatment option and educate us on the disease. Which he certainly gets an A+ on.

Every time we have had an appointment we have waited at least 2 hours in waiting room and then 30 to 1 hour in exam room. Staff is very unfriendly especially front desk and checkout staff. Dr's exam consist of asking questions and then making you feel as though you are beneath him and stupid. Didn't want to spend time answering your questions or fully explaining treatment. Will find different doctor.

When you drive past a restaurant and there are no cars in the parking lot it tells you they are probably not very good. Same thing goes for doctors with no patients. When we arrived there were no patients and they still made us wait and half and 15 minutes. When we were seen Dr. Hensarling walked into the room and announced a "diagnosis" before he ever talked to us. He never did an examination. When we tried to ask questions he shut us down by saying, "I have been a doctor for 30 years, I know what I am talking about." I was less than impressed with this doctor and will find another rheumatologist for the future.

Dr. Hensarling takes the time to discuss your treatment and diagnosis. He is very thorough and discusses your options. The nurses are also nice and helpful.

Dr. Hensarling makes time to see patients who are in dire need of care. He is knowledgeable about disorders other than rheumatology and makes recommendations when other medical care professionals should be seen. He has expert knowledge of matters dealing with rheumatology and its treatment. He puts his patients at ease, so they are able to express their problems to him. I have been his patient for 13 years and have received the best of care from him.

Its been years since I visited Dr. Hensarling. I, however had one of the most difficult situation to arise. First, he was upset because of the medication he prescribe did not help my diabetic neurology pain. My general internist developed two medicine, tramadol and neutrotin that really helped. Secndly when I went to the drug stre (CVS) I was told that I had been changing my medicine and writing my own prescriptions and they could not refill anymore. After further checking to find ut where this was coming from dr Hensarling nurse and the CVS employee convinced themselves that I was breaking the law, I contacted an attorney and was told that I was nt harmed by this predicament. I contacted CVS and received a letter of appology. I never talked to Dr Hensarling but if your staff is this messy, its was an indication, to me that he was on the same level. I never went back. But who in their right would?

Dr. Henserling's staff lost vital paperwork that I spent a significant amount of time compiling even though I delivered it to the office staff by hand on the day of my visit. They intermingled another patient's records with mine and insisted repeatedly that I had seen a physician for testing that I had never seen. Dr. Henserling initially told me that he could spend 2 days explaining to me what was wrong with me and I still would not understand it. I was so upset when I left the office that bloodpressure escalated when I left the office and continued to be elevated into the following afternoon. My daughter was very upset when she heard what happend and called the office to complain. When she spoke to one of the staff and asked if that staffmember's parent had been treated in the same manner what would she have done and she told my daughter "I probably would have gone to the doctor with my mother", as to imply that my daughter was to blame for my treatment. The physician apologized
