I fired Dr. Nicole LaNatra for medical incompetence. At 5 days post-surgery, I called her by phone to discuss what were clearly adverse reactions to a medication she had prescribed. I was certain my reactions were caused by this medication because I delayed taking the med for several hours and had no adverse reactions; then I took the med and the reactions appeared within 2 hours. These reactions were debilitating, obstructing my physical recovery, and putting me at risk of falling. Her assistant answered my request to speak with Dr. LaNatra: “Dr. LaNatra says to make an appointment in-person or via Zoom"—(Zoom is not a tech option for me). First opening for appointment was 2 days later. Clearly that would not serve me at all. I explained I needed to discuss this immediately, by phone, before end of day, not in two days’ time. The assistant again asked LaNatra to call me. Same reply came back: “Dr. LaNatra says to make an appointment.” Frustrated, I called my surgeon to help me. He reached out directly to LaNatra about the medication and to call me. No response by Dr. LaNatra to me or to my surgeon. A third time I called Dr.LaNatra, nearly in tears, to discuss the medication's adverse events, and, might I decrease the dosage? I was again told by the assistant "to make an appointment" in two days’ time. Once more, my surgeon directly reached out to her to call me. Zero response from LaNatra in this 24-hour period. So, I fired her from my medical team. My surgeon and I resolved this quickly and easily, by phone, with a simple medication adjustment. I am now clear of all adverse reactions and recovering well. Why did Dr. LaNatra refuse my request and my surgeon’s request to discuss on the phone? Is it because LaNatra prefers to be paid more money for in-person or Zoom consult rather than a phone consult? Never, in all my years of having medical issues, has a single doctor refuse to speak to me by phone by end of day. Clearly, LaNatra was dismissing my symptoms and did not want to take time to speak with me. This is incompetence. For any doctor to refuse to speak to a patient 5-days post-surgery is incompetence. LaNatra’s behavior illustrates to me that she is a c-grade physician, unworthy of trust and dependability, and lacking skills to honor her patients’ needs. As patients, we must honor one another and expose this kind of incompetence. This is an honest and accurate account of my experience with Dr. Nicole LaNatra at CareMount Medical in Mt. Kisco, NY.

I have seen all of the Dr.'s on staff in the office (Greenberg, Windsor and LaNatra), and they are all exceptional Doctors. The entire staff in the office are kind, caring, friendly, personable, etc., etc. Dr. LaNatra was the first Dr. I had seen to recommend an MRI of my brain when I complained about headaches (previous Dr.'s attributed them to the chemo treatments), and it was discovered that I had aquired a tumor met. in my brain. She saved me from a great deal more suffering that I could have experienced, had the MRI not been performed. She and the other doctors on staff, I hold in the highest regard, and would recommend to anyone considering them.
