I had an emergency with a kidney stone. Shelgren was the only doctor that would take me on short notice. Ended up having 4 outpatient procedures-still needed another. As I was in recovery, I woke up hearing the nurses talk about the poor woman that was the last patient of the day. The machine had “broke” and delivered a huge “charge” to her right side. I was so sick and nauseous for days. Calling his office for help but was told to wait till the next day for my app’t. The next day I went in and had the x-ray that was standard procedure before the appointment. The fellow reading the x-ray came out of his office and asked me if I’ve been in a car accident. I said no I just had a kidney stone procedure. Needless to say, I was the woman that had been the last patient and that the machine head malfunctioned on. I waited for the doctor to tell me exactly what had happened on that last procedure. He never never once brought it up and only commented “ Are you feeling a little better now? We’ll wait another month before we do the next procedure.” I should’ve sued him just for the fact of his dishonesty. I could’ve understood the machine malfunctioning. That was beyond his control. But the fact that he let me lay at home for days before even seeing me and then didn’t have Enough honesty & Hippocratic Oath in his body to relate what really had happened. Disgusting doctor.
I ran – not walked-To the doctor I have now. He has treated me with out procedures and I have done really really well since.
I don’t recommend Dr. Shelgren to anyone.

The staffs was rude and unfriendly so was the doctor. I basically went somewhere else and did the work up all over again.

I am highly suspicious of this doctor! I saw a doctor in this office who claimed to be a Dr Shelgren and was not. I was than billed for a copayment of which they refused to bill my medicare. So I had to pay my copay out of pocket. The staff is very rude most of the time and the billing service is very generic. This was is the new location too! I am on to this doctor and will not be satified until he is looked at!!

This man was contacted through a service during an emergency situation and I was floored by his demeaner. If he did not have credentials I honestly would have thought I had been speaking to a heavily impaired obnoxious frat boy. Since then I have found out many things to indicate this was not an isolated incident. I've also noticed he has since changed locations.
