Horrible experience in the er. My elderly mother was in pain in a wheel chair and a nurse told her she needed to get up because she needed the wheel chair she practically pushed my mother off the wheelchair no apology. Horrible care for patients. Rude imcompetent workers in the er.

Emergency room the worst, tremendously long wait always! Nursing care the worst anywhere I or my family have ever been to. If you do not have medical knowledge you are in trouble here. Heart of Florida is the best....

If you have good insurance they will treat you til the insurance runs out, then you are packed up and sent home. This hospital defines the meaning of "for profit". If you are a Medicaid patient, you are treated like the scum of the earth. And let me say, I am referring to my mother, who was literally dying at the time. They barely checked on her, and when they did it was bare necessity, not one thing more. They didn't properly complete her medical form and didn't mark that she was diabetic. It was discovered days later when a nurse was doing a check and asked if she was diabetic because her blood sugar had dropped to low 50's. The next thing you see is a guy running with a cart to give her glucose. At the same time the x-ray lab is screaming for her to be brought down and they didn't seem to care that my mother was about to crash. She returns from x-ray and her left arm swells to ten times its size, so big the hospital id was cutting into her wrist. I think they broke her frail arm. My mother weighed 87 pounds at the time. She also could no longer speak which means she had a stroke at some point either during or after the x-ray visit. At some point, my mother finally acquiesced to a pain killer, little did I know this was the last time I would speak to my mother. I went into the hallway to find a nurse to ask for the pain killer and stopped at the first person I saw working at a table and asked if she was hospice as she looked like the hospice worker who had just left. Good grief, you would have thought I asked if she was a street hooker, she heatedly spit out that she was not Hospice or associated with Hospice and paused as if waiting for some apology. I asked again if someone could bring my mother pain meds and whoever or whatever she was said she would have someone bring my mother some pain meds, but again, she was not Hospice. My mother had a DNR, so we decided it best to move her to hospice. The minute the hospital found out, they disconnected everything from her, removed every table, chair, phone, etc , from the room. I am surprised they didn't take the covers right off her body! No nurse or other employee ever returned, but one did catch my sister in the hall and said that the transfer needed to be completed that day! Never, ever will I step foot into that hospital willingly again. They will not get one red dime from my pocket. Fortunately, I have excellent insurance and still in good health. On the other hand, I can say Hospice workers are awesome people, the The Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale is wonderful and everyone is very kind and caring. The day my mother arrived she was completely bathed, her hair washed and styled nicely, the first time since prior to being admitted to WH Hospital. She was given pain meds and stayed in a very nice room until she passed the next a.m.

Nice doctor, very calm, soft-spoken (which does alot when you have a frightened child). Have taken my two kids to her for several years. I recommend her.
