Make sure you nail down every detail with him. He intellectually lied about the pain meds. He performed the surgery and left me practically without IV pain medication. The .1 mg of diloted every 12 min for someone that has built a tolerance from at least 2 surgeries a year for 17 years is nothing. This was discussed with him at our first meeting and the day of surgery. He said, "Don't worry! We got him covered." I woke up in tremendous pain, only to find out the convo had at the initial consult and on the morn before surgery went on deaf ears. He is a great surgeon. But, be sure to nail him down on any issue in question you have regarding your surgery. Get a verbal or potentially written confirmation. Again, great surgeon. But laying in pain for an extended period of time is not something anyone should have to do.

I had Dr McTamany remove my gall bladder and he did a great job, with thorough preliminary tests, complete with explanations and reviews. Had great jokes to calm me down and also operated on both my parents.

This was not our actual doctor-- he was another doctor at the office our doctor was in. However, he was the doctor on call when we needed some assistance. He was awful. The pharmacy he called was closed, and he never bothered to let us know. We had to call him back to find that out. Furthermore, he put the prescription in under the entirely wrong name, had a terrible attitude, and sucked overall. He might be a competent surgeon, but he's got crappy bedside manner, as far as I'm concerned.
