Dr. Yuen is an extremely skilled, responsive, and considerate periodontist! She treated me like a human being and not just a broken machine that needed to be fixed. I dreaded having osseous surgery even though I knew I had to go through with it, but Dr. Yuen helped me feel like I was in good hands! Sometimes when I've been in other dentist chairs, the dentist and their assistant carry on a conversation amongst themselves while they're working in my mouth, and it's like I'm not even there or alive. Dr. Yuen did not treat me like that – she communicated with me before, during, and after the procedure. She let me choose music to listen to while being operated on, which helped me relax a bit. She checked in with me frequently during the procedure, asking how I was doing, letting me know what was happening next, and giving me some tips for gum health. Her communication helped me feel like I was the focus of her attention and not just some activity she was doing on the side. After surgery, she was quick to respond via text to questions or concerns that I had. And it goes without saying that she has great surgical skill, and I was relieved that the surgery went smoothly. I highly recommend Dr. Yuen!

Dr. Yuen is very knowledgable and very helpful and nice, and I did feel very comfortable with her because I could tell that what she recommended was the best treatment for me -- to help ME!! Before my appointment, I was a little scared to see a dentist for surgery, and didn't really understand why I needed any treatment since my gums were not bleeding and I was not in any pain. But after my appointment with her I had a much better understanding of why I did need treatment. I actually really liked her and although I was not happy I needed treatment, I was happy that I now understood what was going on and was happy that I did feel comforatable enough to move on and get the treatment she recommended. Dr. Yuen was awesome!!
