I should have trusted my instincts from my previous visit when Dr. Connie Cheng made inappropriate jokes and treated me condescendingly. Unfortunately, we stayed with her for my wife's delivery. What followed was 38 hours of labor with multiple interventions, constant monitoring disruptions, and ultimately a C-section. When I expressed concerns about the process, I was dismissed. When Dr. Cheng later acknowledged I looked 'tired and traumatized,' she claimed the treatment decisions 'weren't mine to make.'The unprofessional attitude from my previous visit continued throughout our experience. We're switching providers and would not recommend Dr. Cheng to anyone seeking patient-centered care.

I’m going to be this hospital a five start review minus the fact that an MD by the name of Abigail Jacobs was the worst doctor I’ve come across. The reason for my five star review will be solely on the actual surgeon who was kind enough to explain to my brother and I how the procedure would be. My father had open heart surgery in 2016 and he easily gets stressed out with very little things. Especially when it comes to his health. It’s a personality of his and me being his daughter knows what’s best for him in situations like the one he had yesterday. He fell off a scooter and almost lost his ear. I had specifically asked Dr. Jacob’s not to tell my dad he might get his ear amputated. That was something I wanted to tell him in a way where he didn’t get stressed right before surgery. This doctor not only told him in a very direct and mean way but also got an interpreter to make sure he gets the point. I asked her to please stop and let my brother and I break the news in a way where he’s more at ease with the news, not so direct! She wouldn’t stop. I couldn’t believe how much evil this doctor had in her. In my dad advanced directive I specifically have a “point” where it says ONLY FAMILY WILL NE ALLOWED TO BREAK ANY TRAUMATIZING NEWS to the above patient”. Knowing how my dad reacts to things after his heart surgery , we as a family decided that would be the best option for him. My dad trusts me and only me. If you ever come across her, please be aware she’s one evil doctor. The surgeon however, was kind, good with his words and ended up putting my dad’s ear back without complications. I wish we had more doctors like him. She will definitely be hearing from my attorney. Shame on her. Abigail Jacob’s should take another two-three years in psychology school understanding how to deal with trauma patients. Again, shame on her!

For the first time I came to Huntington Hospital ER the wait time is ridiculous ………. 8 hrs. The doctor from urgent care suggested to go the ER that is why I came. While I was waiting I observed the luck of cross contamination prevention that they practice at the ER same blood pressure cuff for all the patients, the roller thermometer was not clean between patients, neither the pulse oximeter.

Unfortunately, the quality of patient care is poor. The hospitalist for inpatient 4west telemetry unit horrible bedside manors. He insulted my father numerous times and did not check results of test prior to entering the room. The provider would ask my father (the patient) “what did the technician tell you?” It is not the patient’s duty to find out the results of test nor can the technician provide the findings as they have to be read and reported by a physician. The RNs in general were rude and did not do appropriate rounding. When my father asked for a list of his medications the nurse refused to provide them and stated “you will get that when you are discharged” my father wanted the list so he knew wheat he was taking and when. The CNAs were very helpful, thank goodness for them! My father has very limited mobility due to a spinal cord injury. I wish I could say better things about this hospital but the patient care is horrible and should be investigated. It is a human right to receive standard of care no matter what walk of life you come from.

13.5 hours in ER waiting. The only really decent medical professionals were Dr. Wilkins, Dr. Peck, and Xray tech. The rest could not have cared less.

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU NEED EMERGENCY CARE 8 hours to get into the ER treatment room 3.5 hours waiting in the treatment room to actually speak with a doctor They tell you there's a lot of Covid policies but the waiting room has 20 to 30 people waiting in it. You cannot leave because they will not call you on your cell phone so you have to wait in person. They try to make you feel better by telling you the time of the person waiting the longest. They will call out longest patient waiting time 11 hours. That does not really help anyone else. They won't even give you a Band-Aid to treat anything because it's not allowed. So you have to wait uncomfortably in a plastic chair or they will give your treatment room away or cancel you. They even do roll call. They cannot perform treatment unless you have a room because they need to monitor you. But in order for you to have a room there has to be a room empty and readily available. They said there weren't any beds available. While I was walking to my treatment room finally at 7 am after waiting the entire night in a cramped full waiting room. I walked by more than a few empty rooms so they could've taken more people in but they just didn't want to. I spend eight hours waiting for a room 3 1/2 hours waiting for the doctor to see me then 3 1/2 hours before I was told that they will be transferring me to a different facility for treatment because of insurance purposes. Waste of time do not come here. Every time you try to ask nurses questions if it is not your nurse they say I will go check but no one ever gets back to you. Even when you ask your nurse. No one checks on you. EVER. The nurses have no bedside manner and they don't actually care. You could be crying in pain but they don't actually rush to check on you when you call for them. My nurse call button was pressed and they didn't show up until six minutes later. If it was an emergency I would've died. Waiting for a transport they tell you one time it gets delayed and you just have to wait. I’ve been here in the treatment room for 12 hours and they still haven’t treated some of my issues since I’m transferring. They stopped all treatment. And now I’m just waiting here while they chat outside and joke around. The nurse Kelly actually told me "you just have to roll with it" Because I kept asking for an updated time for the transport since I've been waiting now six hours since they told me I would be transferred. She said well you didn't want to go but now you want to go. You just have to roll with it. You know? There's a delay and you just have to wait. Thanks a lot. Then she just walks away. You didn't do anything ? You basically just said shut up and wait. I have been in this hospital for 21 hours and they have not actually provided a meal service but instead I have gotten a turkey sandwich after asking several times. They have not even provided any water. CAN YOU IMAGINE ? No water ? 21 hours and not a single cup of water was ever brought to me. Transferring me because I do not have PPO insurance. Don’t come here. It would be a mistake.

WARNING. My partner of 13 years died in Huntington Hospital in 2020 after being admitted via ER with a life-threatening strep infection of his teeth which had entered his bloodstream and causing heart problems: endocarditis. He had Medi-cal insurance to cover both the necessary oral surgery and the follow-up heart surgery. The hospital provided Dr Tiner to do the dental work, and Dr. Cohen to lead the cardio team. The full story is here: https://justiceforross.com Dr. Tiner refused Ross' insurance, and said we would have to prepay before he would perform the teeth extractions. Why did he not accept Ross' dental insurance? I discovered some days later that Dr. Tiner is not a licensed dentist or oral surgeon, but a plastic surgeon. Why did Huntington Hospital, a Medi-cal partner, then provide a plastic surgeon who cannot or would not take Medi-cal dental insurance? I have yet to hear an explanation for that. Ross complained to Dr. Cohen, the lead cardiologist, about Dr. Tiner. Dr. Cohen acknowledged that there had been problems with Dr. Tiner in the past, but that he was a fine surgeon, and he was the only one the hospital uses. (However, I found out later Huntington does list a licensed oral surgeon on their website.) In any case, nothing came of Ross' complaint. We were left to scrounge up the payment demanded by Dr. Tiner, and no other arrangements were offered. Why did Dr. Cohen not step in and advocate for Ross? I have yet to hear an explanation for that. It took us a week to be able to come up with the payment in full, but by then complications had set in and neither the dental nor the heart operations could be done. Ross was put on life support and Dr. Cohen, who had done nothing to urge Dr. Tiner on, tried to persuade me to let Ross die now. I wouldn't do that prematurely. Dr. Cohen assured me, "It won't be premature." Could he have been any more condescending, knowing that surgery had been delayed for a week for payment in advance, and he had done nothing to spur Dr. Tiner to action nor to provide another, properly licensed, oral surgeon? Ross' insurance plan would have covered all the procedures 100% but it was worthless because after admitting Ross via the ER, the hospital provided a plastic surgeon instead of a licensed oral surgeon, and the lead cardiologist did nothing about it when the patient asked. When I questioned how the hospital could allow a plastic surgeon to postpone an emergency, life-saving operation for payment in advance, Dr. Enriquez (from Palliative Care) explained with a straight face, "That's standard procedure." Huntington Hospital's "standard procedure" in an emergency is to delay treatment until payment is made in full, and contracts with a specialist (a plastic surgeon!) instead of a licensed oral surgeon or dentist? The hospital chaplain gave a better answer, calling Dr. Tiner's actions "unconscionable, indefensible." Amazingly, the day after I refused to accept Dr. Cohen's recommendation to let Ross die now, Dr. Tiner showed up and extracted the infected teeth, even though Ross was now on life support, on a ventilator, and Dr. Cohen's advice 24 hours earlier had been to cease treatment! I paid for those extractions so that Ross could have the necessary heart surgery to follow. Ross would then submit a claim for reimbursement to his insurance plan after he was discharged. But because Ross died, the medical records are unavailable to me now. I have no proof that the operation I paid for took place, and I am unable to submit a claim for reimbursement. Legal perhaps but unethical. Dr. Cohen, Dr. Tiner and Dr. Enriquez destroyed any faith and trust I once had in Huntington Hospital. I've never seen an organization go into CYA mode so quickly. If this is "standard procedure" at Huntington Hospital, take heed. Go anywhere else. Huntington Hospital contracts with the government to accept Medicaid, Medicare and Medi-cal, but that doesn't mean the doctors they assign to you in an emergency will accept those plans, and it doesn't mean they will help you find doctors who will. Six months after he died, the hospital mailed a request for donations and addressed it to Ross. I sent it back with a note reminding them that Ross had died there six months earlier, and said it was careless and insensitive to request donations from a dead person. You would think that would have prompted a swift apology from hospital administration, but nope. Complete silence, not a word of regret, as if it hadn't happened. Huntington Hospital is all about the money first, and patient care comes in somewhere behind that.

First and last time we come to this hospital. Treated as 2nd class citizens from the moment we walked through the door with our sick 2 year old. The security guard was rude and the lady checking in my kid had a very condescending demeanor when she spoke to us. We decided to leave and headed over to Glendale Adventist, the difference in customer service is night and day. Best decision we made.

Huntington Hospital murdered my friend. They demanded payment in full upfront before performing any life-saving emergency surgery. They did not accept insurance. By the time we got payment in full for expensive emergency surgery, it was too late for my friend. He is now sitting in a box in our living room, an avoidable death he did not deserve. If you get your windows washed or your house vacuumed, you pay after the service is rendered. Huntington demanded full payment before...no payment plan was accepted. HOW???? MURDERERS.

It's hard to rate a Hospital that killed my wife. They were so worried about my insurance no longer paying, they pushed her out to a nursing home. She left the hospital with a large bed sore, urinary track infection and a blood clot in her leg. They were happy, they got their $500,000 from my insurance. She returned 5 weeks later, same problems, oh, and she also went in with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer that was removed... but due to the UTI, she could NOT have any chemo. It returned, she died. Thought they weren't a hospital for profit, heck, they proved that to be wrong.
