An assistant does the cleaning and Dr. Gesinger comes in and tells you how things look. Like other periodontists, Dr. Gesinger has recommended expensive procedures that ended up not working. The focus at the periodontal clinic seems to be on telling your general dentist what is wrong with your teeth as opposed to how to heal your gums. They are teachers, but they have no clue about actually resolving gum issues. In fact, after a procedure is performed by Dr. Gessinger or anyone at the clinic, they don't even schedule an immediate followup to see how it went; they look at how it went after you come back for your next cleaning 3 or 6 months later. If you are a new patient, they immediately recommend gum surgery even though it doesn't work. If you have been newly diagnosed with gum disease, I recommend that you find a periodontist in the private sector who will do some deep cleanings and root cleanings b4 recommending surgery. Also, look in2 natural remedies (coconut oil especially)
