Biography
Dr. Peter Bast, MD, attended Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, where he received his bachelor's in biology. He spent two years researching with the Mayo Clinic Cardiovascular Pharmacology Research Lab, after which he graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor in 2006. As a medical student, he researched retinal degenerative disease in mice, which led to co-authoring studies published from 2001-2004 as well as a 2006 poster presentation. Dr. Bast completed his general medical internship at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center in Dearborn, Michigan. Afterwords, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the Scott & White Eye Institute at the Texas A&M University Medical Center. In 2010, Dr. Bast joined Sight Eye Clinic, where he is currently helping his patients with their eye care.

Dr. Bast is thorough and caring. He stays on top of what is going on with his patient. He does not have a great bedside manner but he is the best I have gone to. I will tell anyone to go to Dr. Bast.
