I learned about Dr. Koenig from mito boards. Many recommended her but just as many had an awful review of her. We decided to get a second opinion from her this past year. I can say that I am dumbfounded how people could think she's a decent physician. She didn't listen to anything we had to say and made up her mind even before she met us. Why bother having us come in if she wasn't going to listen to us? She told us things about genetics that our own geneticist told us was just false and inaccurate. She talked negatively about the doctor's we have seen, which I found to be very unprofessional. The other thing that got to us was her entire demeanor. She smiled at us as if someone forced her to and I could tell she would rather be anywhere else than in that room with us. Not a good feeling when a doctor treats you like you are nothing when you have a sick child. I sobbed after that visit solely because of how she treated us and talked down to us like we were idiots. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.

Dr. Koenig is fantastic. She truly cares about her patients and works hard to improve their lives with mitochondrial disease. I can't imagine our lives without her!

We traveled a great distance to see Dr. Koenig based on a recommendation from a friend. Her staff was very unfriendly and I found the doctor to be condescending and lacking knowledge about medicine in general. She might be an expert in mito but she doesn't seem to know much else. I agree with the other reviewers and found that her staff really isn't qualified to run a clinic. However, I did find the projects coordinator to be comforting but she's not a nurse and I was confused why she was giving me medical advise. Very strange experience.

We saw her once, but her office staff managed to screw up and delay any results. We were dealing with connected health issues that needed results in a timely manner- her office staff was not able to handle that. I suspect if she upgraded to a more capable and professional staff she might be an outstanding Neurologist.
