Dr Khera is a very friendly, educated, compassionate & thorough doctor. My husband & I were very excited about the fact you felt like he already knew your situation in detail & ask you questions & you in turn you were free to ask him any question that important to yourself - We had 2 visits & covered everything in detail to make sure the surgery he recommended was understood especially at my husbands age 78. **1st visit w/ Dr. Oner Khera (lasted only 5-7mins.) he asked me approx 3-5 questions, he NEVER did a physical exam on me, he then ordered a MRI of my lower lumbar spine w/o contrast.
Dr Khera mentioned he thought I might be having trouble w/ my L-hip too so he told me he would have his partner Dr. Marc Rosen the hip doc sit in on my next MRI consult appt.
After the MRI, I called the office and it took 7 weeks to get my appt. for my MRI results.
**2nd appt. the MRI Consult (lasted approx. 10-15 mins.): my husband and I both attended with Dr. Oner Khera. The doc came in and told me to sit down while he stood over us talking.
Dr. Oner Khera NEVER showed me my MRI but said I did need surgery to Fuse spinal discs L4-L5 and briefly explained the surgery.
He lastly stated to me that "When I want to kill myself, that's when it's time I should come see him for the surgery."
He never brought in his partner Dr Marc Rosen the hip doc like he said he would.
When I showed up at the 2nd appt. I was told by his staff I had to re-fill out all the patient paperwork for a 2nd time! As soon as the staff gave me the paperwork I was called back to the room to meet with Dr. Khera.
So, I was sitting there trying to fill out paperwork while Dr. Khera is talking to us about needing back surgery.
At the end of the appt. I told Dr. Khera I had not finished filling out the paperwork and he said, "That's Ok, I don't need it" but he took the paperwork from me anyway.
In Dr. Khera's final report he stated my spinal stenosis as only moderate.

Please note: I have suffered with 24/7 chronic severe low back pain for 5 years now. Which causes severe burning, stabbing, shooting pains in my low back, buttocks, both hips, pain radiates down both legs with numbness, tingling, horrible fatigue & pain in my L-groin area.
I was at the same place of employment for 19+ years until I was forced to quit almost 3 yrs. ago due to the severe chronic low back pain was only getting worse.
I have always been very physically active in sports & in great shape my entire life up until this past 5 years.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

Best side manner I have ever seen in a surgeon and he takes the time to explain every option. He is not quick to want to cut and truly respects the patient and the fact that they are scared and helps to make you feel completely at ease with your decision. AMAZING DOCTOR!

My experience with Dr. Khera has always been positive. He has always been there to answer any questions both my husband and I have had pertaining to my back surgery. While in the hospital he would stop by at least two to three times a day to see how I was doing.Dr. Khera let me know what to except before and after surgery. He took care of my bandages and not left it to others, which made me feel good to know how much he cares. While at home I was able to call his office and was gotten back to within a short time.

Dr Khera was informative to the patient and the whole family. He spent time answering any questions. Did a wonderful surgery and was there to check on the patient 3 times a day everyday she was in the hospital. He made sure the nurses had his cell # in case he was needed. We would recommend Dr Khera anytime!

Dr. Khera is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated. I suffered a serious ankle fracture that required a surgical repair. He was very careful to explain everything to me in detail, give me all my options, and help me understand what to expect. He was positive and realistic. His passion for Orthopedics is obvious. When it is your appointment time he is all about you. No matter what is going on, he is focused on you and getting as much of your mobility back as possible. He was fast to respond to any concerns I had even after office hours. His assistant was competent, responsive, and friendly. Dr. Khera is a fantastic, professional, kind, and skilled surgeon. I cannot say enough about him.

My husband broke his hip (just below the ball joint). I am in love with this surgeon. He came in and explained everything in terms we could understand easily. He waited patiently for any questions we had. We had his COMPLETE attention. He explained our options. Then he went and looked at the x-ray again and came back. He explained everything again from the beginning. He told us exactly what the injury was, what the options were, what the surgery entailed, what the recovery would be, possible outcomes all in terms we could understand. Again, patiently answered a few more questions we had and then scheduled him for surgery first thing in the morning. He checked with us repeatedly who he was, what he was there for, which leg it was, allergies, any other questions. The surgery went very well. The follow up at his office went equally well except our idiot insurance but the staff worked with me to get my husband taken care of anyway. Absolutely wonderful service.
